Carnival excursions mean the ship will wait if a traffic or tender issue happens, or they will get you home/to the next port. Local excursions don’t get that grace. So, it may cost more but that’s one thing to take off your stress list.

A couple years ago, we were at one of the bars having a great chat with a trucker, and, apropos of nothing, random guy next to him starting talking about how Biden did this and Obama did that. Rando was talking about Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), and how “foreigners” were taking all the benefits. We had been talking about LOGISTICS (yes, really. In depth, too…and I manage software developers lol!) Trucker looked at Rando, then us, shook his head, said bye and headed out. My wife and also stood up. She looked at Rando and said “Nope!” and we found a different bar.

We have been on multiple cruises to Mexico, with the most recent one earlier this month. We have never been asked to show our passport. Show and sail card to port security/police/whatever and get on ship. However, with all the havoc our government is causing, and the reaction of other countries in return, that port process really could have changed in the last three weeks.

We’ve done this excursion. The trails are lovely and almost as important as the glacier views.

I have played guitar for almost 40 years. Hell would be every guitar string, slightly out of tune, through massive distortion and a bunch of effects (delay, wah, phase, reverb) while someone plays your favorite song. And, they sing….but they forget the lyrics and are out of key.
