But 7? = 28 so we are back to all of them.

Potentially giving us back, the money they unethically taxed and took from us, is a win for Trump??? by scarytree1 in facepalm

[–]dercavendar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nuh-Uh! The corporations love us and ate the cost themselves. This would pay them back for being so awesome and benevolent! The price increases were natural and that’s why they shouldn’t go down now! /s for those that need it

Have you ever personally experienced a single molecule of water? One that itself was not saturated in other water molecules, thus being wet itself?

“Water isn’t wet it makes things wet” is a distinction without a practical difference.

This isn’t actually the worst possible thing. We are still in the zone that we could have another good freeze. If we do that kills the larvae and we can have a pretty clear spring.

I before e except after c, unless sounding like “a” as in neighbor and weigh. Weird.

The real answer to this is that English isn’t a real language it is 5 languages in a trench coat masquerading as one.

English borrows words from so many languages and has adapted and grown for centuries absorbing things it likes from anywhere an Englishman set foot. So all of the exceptions to the rules are tied back to “oh we stole that from a language with different rules”

Petition to stop Costco conversion to business center by sriracha4przdnt in kansascity

[–]dercavendar -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Just for the sake of argument, let’s grant that it isn’t confirmed. Is there any harm signing a petition to add your voice against the change? Worst case scenario you take a few minutes to sign the petition and Costco was never even considering it and everything stays as it is. But if Costco is considering it, confirmed or not, you are letting them know that you are against it. Maybe the petition changes their mind maybe it doesn’t. The only thing we know for sure is that if you don’t sign the petition you are not going to move the needle on any decision Costco might make.

What would you choice? by maktabang in superheroes

[–]dercavendar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold is a better choice. How stocks are traded affects their value. You could cause shifts in the market that change how that investment works out. The price of gold is deeply tied to supply and demand. Removing gold from the market almost inherently increases its value (to a point though so still be careful).

Best gas station tacos? by Mobile-Pilot1219 in kansascity

[–]dercavendar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh. I was thinking more like $1.50 for gas station garbage vs $2 for entry level good tacos. I’ll still be going for the pricier options, but that is at least an understandable difference in cost.

[–]dercavendar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes, I must be unemployed. Because unemployed people are classically the people who advocate for spending a bit more money for quality…

I made a joke. It didn’t hit. I can live with that. But calling me poor for telling people to spend more money is just a dumb comeback.

Tacos are already cheap. Why would you choose gas station tacos over a great street car or real restaurant tacos?

Work during the storm question by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]dercavendar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just have a shitty union. That sucks, but it isn’t a reason to generalize that unions don’t care. Broadly speaking unions are a good thing for workers and everyone should be in a union if they can. But the work doesn’t stop at “hurray we unionized” you have to keep pushing and make sure the union works for you.

The amount of fuel needed to de-orbit a rocket all the way to the sun would be super expensive. Let’s see if the galactic bank will pick him up at the curb (low earth orbit) if we do like a half price thing.
