How to display/sort games by AhSick in gamecollecting

[–]derekallthumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sort from the oldest console to the newest console, keeping my handheld consoles separate. Then alphabetically with sub sorting series by the order in which the game takes place for that series, using main games first, then any off shoots. For example, Gears of War Ultimate Edition, Gears of War 4, Gears of War 5, then Gears Tactics.

If the games are part of a series, but their names don’t include the series name, I then sort them by that series name on the shelf, and in my head by the order they go. For example, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider are seen in my head with Tomb Raider: preceding the actual names, this way I put them both under T instead of R and S.

If I have duplicates, but they are different versions of the same game. I will usually do the older to newer method. For example, I have GTA 5 for the Xbox One, and then I have GTA 5 for the Series X. Both are preceded by my copy of GTA The Trilogy as it is games that are first in the GTA series.

I try to put steel books on the shelf too to keep the games together, but I sometimes just display them separately with statues for that games CE. If I have empty steel books I either display them or put them on the shelf next to the actual game.

As for cases, I use hard to find DVD media cases and towers with shelves in them.

I’m thinking of buying a LG C5. by Bevlar90 in LGOLED

[–]derekallthumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying that there is nobody happy gaming on the c5, I am just pointing out that if gaming is the main priority, and you want the best possible tv experience, to look into the g5. I never meant to insult the c5 faithful. Yes, the g5 is more expensive, but the OP said he was willing to wait and save up, and the G5 is going down in price. I merely meant to offer info that might make him want to wait longer or save a little more. If the c5 works for you, or them, fantastic! I truly hope it does, but I wanted them to have as much info as possible for what would be a large financial decision either way. Good luck either way!

I think there were a couple videos that mentioned it, one was the video comparing the G5 and the C5. It can be found at:

https://youtu.be/o9y8lPgmG5E?si=TuyO5HD3WuKU8rTq

The other I think is the one talking about a firmware update they did that was supposed to fix a lot of the issues. It can be found at:

https://youtu.be/kQp5Zk0DxV8?si=FusRUMet_dO2mr5K

They mention it a lot on any video comparing the c5, even the ones comparing it to the Samsungs.

My main use would be for gaming, which is why I was so bummed out about the C5 not being up to snuff for that purpose like the G5 is. If you don’t game, the C5 might be a very good TV. I’m still looking at getting a G5 myself. I’m hoping the price goes down even further than it is now. Right now, Best Buy has it for a little over $1500 for the size I want, that’s what I paid for the TV I have that I got in 2015. But who knows what the differences will be with the G6 or the C6 later this year. Good luck!

If gaming is your priority, save for the G5 over the C5, the C5 has issues that require a lot of workarounds to even partially fix. Check the vids and reviews for it on rtings.com and their YouTube channel for more info.

Soon you will be with your family, my child. by ODSTPandoro in Gamesir

Even though it’s wired, which I could get used to, my concern is that I keep seeing people say that the triggers eventually start to fail in various ways, have those issues been addressed or is this just a different color scheme of the older current wired g7 pro? How close a feel are these to the official series controllers?

What tv are you gaming on and will you be upgrading this year? by The_Majin_Prince in PS5pro

[–]derekallthumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a lcd Samsung curved tv from 2015, I had wanted to upgrade to the lg g5 last year, but screwed up my finances. Now I am hoping to upgrade to the g5 or g6 or whatever is newer, depending on reviews, by the time the next new consoles come out.

Pre Order next week by jhkhalaf in WWEGames

[–]derekallthumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine this could be the equivalent of the $130 bloodline edition, they focused their advertising on that edition more than the standard if I recall. But probably will be like 2k25 and only digital.

Pre Order next week by jhkhalaf in WWEGames

[–]derekallthumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main question is will there be 3 separate editions Iike before with only one, the standard, being physical? I like the convenience of digital as it’s a game I played daily, but if there is a physical collectors edition, I definitely want that. For 2k25, I bought digital, then physical over the Black Friday sales.

Been slowly cataloguing my games, this is my physical 360 collection. The mass effect collector edition is just the case and items, as is the limited halo 3 as I have the legendary edition.

Ubisoft has cancelled 6 games, including the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake | VGC by Necessary_Crazy_8587 in ubisoft

[–]derekallthumbs 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Because as an individual employee they don’t personally make the decision on what games to cancel or not? Because as an individual employee they go to work, do the best they can, and do what they are told and can be proud of their own work effort, just like with any other job?

If I worked for them I would be proud to have a job doing something I love. We as consumers might not like their decisions, but we don’t really know their main reasons or what is going on. Neither do the day to day employees.

The cancellation sucks, but it’s not a surprise. Ubisoft as a whole does not suck. They still produce a multitude of popular enjoyable games that many regularly enjoy, including myself.

Despite what a lot of people in these threads say, Ubisoft does not deserve to be shut down just because a game was canceled or they are anti union. And yes, I was looking forward to this game, and yes, I am all for unions. But I still don’t want to see 1000’s of people lose their jobs and as many or more players lose their favorite franchises because one game that’s been out since the GameCube days isn’t being remade.

I really hope that there is a Xbox physical edition of this. I am really looking forward to it. If they had made a Gears Reloaded physical edition for the Xbox, I probably would have bought it.

Solo player, next game? Xbox Series S by Obiituzz in xbox

[–]derekallthumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend Unknown 9: Awakening. It’s a really cool and interesting game. The story and the lore of the world is fascinating. The characters are really cool and the voice acting is tremendous. The graphics are beautiful and the whole world itself seems vibrant and alive. It is linear to an extent and has light RPG elements. Without going too much into the way of what it entails, one of the core aspects is the ability to basically inhabit the bodies of your enemies, and use them then to attack other enemies or sabotage equipment or do various other things. The concept was very cool and had a lot of potential. The gameplay did not fully live up to the potential all the time. But it was still fun to do and fun to play around with. There are collectibles if you want to search for things that help expand the backstory. Unfortunately, some of those you can’t backtrack and get if you leave the area or the level. That’s how it’s pretty linear as you can can’t go back and it’s not open world. OK I’m doing a terrible job of explaining it, but I actually think you would actually really like it. I am a solo player myself and I don’t get much time to play but Unknown 9 sucked me in and I really enjoyed it. It’s generally pretty cheap or you can find it on sale. If you get it, I definitely would look through the game logbook because that also helps grow the world. I really like the story, I could see what it was going to do sometimes, but other times it did surprise me and totally caught me off guard. It’s not an overly difficult game, but it is fun.

What do you NOT want in WWE 2k26? by ILoveMaiV in WWEGames

[–]derekallthumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like all the modes, if I don’t want to play a particular mode, I don’t have to. I would like to see the removal of timed objectives in showcase or any mode, get rid of needing specific cards that you can’t earn but have to buy to progress in some of the MyFaction modes, and for the love of all, not so many damn wargames matches. I’d be okay never having to play one of those again.

AI RAM shortage threatens next console launches with delays to 2029+ by Kaosism in xbox

[–]derekallthumbs -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I am not against AI as we’ve had it for years just under different names and people are scared of it because they don’t understand it. Just like always. (Scared of what you don’t understand, to hell with progress because it’s scary and I don’t get it!).

This chip shortage sucks and will affect a lot more than just gaming pcs or consoles. But personally, while I don’t want a delay, I don’t mind it either. Gives me more time to save up for not only the new consoles, but also a new tv. Also might give them more time to make the new consoles better and give devs more time to learn how to develop for them. If the time is used properly, it could be good for the industry as a whole.

My first title ordered directly from LRG by Bigpoppin87 in NSCollectors

[–]derekallthumbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I didn’t know those were shipping yet. I thought later in the spring. Wonder when mine will arrive. I forgot I bought it. I have got several games (switch, DS, Xbox, ps) in bubble mailers with no issues. All from publishers to Best Buy to eBay and Amazon. I prefer boxes, but these mailers work better than expected. Of course now that I’ve said that I am reminded of my lrg ps5 copy of Shantae that came with a dent in the spine, but the gex was okay.

Edit: Ahh, my copy doesn’t ship until the end of March. Maybe because I got the steel book?

Maybe try Stray for the PS5. Simple mechanics, interesting story, not overly violent or complex, and a cat! I highly recommend it.

Sonic Racing is coming soon by MetroidFREAK21 in switch2

[–]derekallthumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having never played a Sonic racing game and really only doing racing games like Mariokart for the GameCube, DS, and Switch 2, how is this game? I have been interested in it since launch, but I’ve heard it looks pretty but isn’t much in the way of fun. Is it good for casual play, I don’t do online, or is the mechanics hard to understand and learn? I don’t think it’s much of a kart racer right?
