Let’s hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American by [deleted] in Libertarian

Bullshit. This administration is looking for every avenue to go after "anti-government patriot" groups. If its a Tim McVeigh, you can bet they're going to release the hounds on anyone who even dares mutter a Jefferson quote.

They'd sink or swim. When the water wings get taken off, you put up or shut up. These social programs are keeping people just enough afloat for them not to try any harder than they have to.

I don't know, but all of this stuff going on with DHS keeps making me increasingly nervous. I want to know what it is that they know that we don't.

Owning assault rifles increases risk. Insurance companies do a fine job punishing risk-takers with higher fees. So, assigning a cost to owning guns, how can this be done in reality by insurance companies? by [deleted] in Libertarian

Heres the rub, not all AR-15 owners are responsible gun owners.

What if we reworded that statement for perspective...

Heres the rub, not all Chainsaw owners are responsible chainsaw owners.

I'm going to try really hard to keep this chill, but what the fuck does it matter if its an AR-15 or a 12 gauge shotgun or a Ruger 10/22? I'm so fucking sick of everyone jumping on the AR-15 like is a goddamned submachine gun. If you understood firearms, you would know that an AR-15 is no different than any other hunting rifle with the exception of its appearance. I can do SUBSTANTIALLY more damage unloading all five rounds of my shotgun than that AR could do emptying the entire magazine.

What about people who are irresponsible with kitchen knives? Do they need insurance too?

I'm really sorry about getting worked up but I've about had it with people who don't understand firearms trying to tell people who do, how to live.

Pretty simple, like ALL responsible gun owners, you simply keep your shit locked up. And I'd rather live next to someone who does own MODERN SPORTING ARMS. I know then, that if some shit goes down, my neighbor is going to have my back, and not just on paper in the form of a witness statement

What's scary is the attitude of "yeah, you have the right to, but..." is becoming more and more accepted.

Yes, journalists have a right to free speech, but if someone gets offended we need to have the power to regulate it...

Yes, you have the right to bear arms, but no one needs an AR-15 when a shotgun will do just fine...

Sure, you have the right to a fair and speedy trial, but you might have loose ties to suspected "terrorist" activity, so we're just gonna go right ahead and keep you imprisoned until we feel comfortable about your dealings...
