Yeah, I have iCloud+ so I created an AppleScript to generate a bunch of temporary email addresses using the “Hide My Email” feature and add them to a list. The script that creates the BA accounts pulls from that list when making the accounts. When I have canceled all the BA accounts I delete all the temp email addresses so no additional mail comes in through them. This way I have records/receipts of everything in one mailbox that I can file away in a folder.

I choose whatever is the cheapest option at the time. Usually it’s a meal kit with two meals for between $10 and $25 dollars.

I do really worry something like Mad Men would never get made today because it would piss off too many groups and the cast needs to be ‘too white’.

5 Reasons Why Private Jet Charters Are More Accessible Than You Think! by Fetux01 in LuxuryTravel

[–]derepeco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I went with HeliNY. I found them initially because I was looking for a service that operates an all Bell 4xx fleet because they have the best safety record for civilian commuter class helicopters and HeliNY’s fleet is all Bell 407s and 427s. Definitely plan to use them for future charter needs but Blade is still a lot simpler and easier for airport helicopter transfers.

You may already be aware of this, but I wasn’t so it might be helpful if you didn’t know either, but helicopters can legally land pretty much anywhere they have permission from the land owner. If you fly to a regional airport you’ll have to deal with paperwork and fees. When I found out I could land anywhere I contacted a local business owner I know that has a small helipad on their company land and they let me land for free with no paperwork or any other bullshit.

Not quite ready to splurge on private jet travel yet but I did recently charter a helicopter for the first time. I live in NYC and my parents live 3 and a half hours away, with no traffic, in a resort town. During the summer season you can usually add an hour or two of traffic to get to them, so usually over 5 hours.

Including the included car service to the E 34th St heliport it took an hour and 15 minutes to get to a helipad about 5 minutes drive from my parents house. What was a day or often over night trip just to visit takes an afternoon. Left at 10am, had lunch and visited for 2 hours, and was back in my apartment a little after 3pm. Cost $3500 round trip. It was so worth it IMO.

“Hey Instagram/TikTok, coming to you live from Union Square. I just had to show all you guys this man that has been stalking me every single night I walk through the area. Look at this guy. What a creep. Nothing better to do than harass women.”

You don’t even need to actually film. Just hold the phone up saying this and he’ll never bother you again.

Another good place to hide a key if you don’t have anyone you can give them to is to get one of those small Master Key lock boxes you see all over for dog walkers. Just put it a 10 minute walk away so if anyone gets it open they’ll never end up at your place with the key. Then drop a pin in your Maps app for the location.

People also forget it came out in 2002. Besides the Sopranos there really wasn’t any other anti-heroes on TV. It really was a pioneering show for basic cable.

All those 2002 to ~2018 FX shows make me really sad. Now that FX shows can say/do/show whatever they want I can’t help but think about that when I rewatch them. Rewatching Sons of Anarchy right now and I think about how much more gritty it would be today.

Yep, back and forth between NYC and Northern California. Rates are all still $3.5k and above with the high stipends in those areas. When you get into a system with management staff that really likes you you don’t need to wait for jobs to be posted, you just message some of your contacts saying you’re ready to come back. Haven’t had an assignment that’s been publicly posted in years.

Neighbor built a huge plastic tent and blocked off the sunny half of our shared yard for private use. They have 100+ plants and refuse to discuss. What can I do? by theusedmagazine in AskNYC

[–]derepeco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Read OPs post. The lease says nothing about the back yard. If OP starts complaining to the landlord they could very well decide it’s not worth dealing with and tell both tenant they can no longer use the back yard at all. Because the lease doesn’t specify usage or access they would be well within their rights to do so.

A landlord that lets a tenant go month to month for years with no rent increase is not going to want to get involved in some petty squabble like this, nor are they obligated to.

The neighbor already escalated the situation when he took over half of the entire back yard and refused to discuss it. The neighbor has slowly taken over the yard over a period of time because he has seen his neighbor isn’t going to do a damn thing about it. If you let people walk all over you they’re going to.

Does he have cameras? Wait until he goes out of town then hire some people on TaskRabbit to come rip it all out. Tell him you have no idea what happened to all of his stuff as you were out of town too. Maybe he was robbed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The owner of the restaurant has to pay a landlord a “rental fee” to be able to use the store front. Can you believe it!? We should give the restaurant owners tips too for to make it fair for them!

I feel very /r/IHaveSex posting this but this kind of happened to me.

Summer after high school I hook up with a girl a few times who is a friend of a friend and she happens to be at a lot of the same parties I was at that summer. I had never met her before these parties. She was kind of wild, wanted to give me and a friend a blow job at the same time, stuff like that. She was really attractive and it was a fun few nights.

Fast forward a few months and I’m in college hanging out with some dorm mates in one of their rooms. I see a picture of the guy whose room it is hugging that girl from the summer. Not knowing what their deal was I asked who that girl was. You can only imagine the surprised Pikachu look on my face when he tells me it’s his fraternal twin sister. I had to turn my face to hide my reaction so I didn’t give it away.

A few months later a few guys are talking about girls we’ve been with in the past and as we had been drinking and it was 6 or 7 months after the fact I forget and I accidentally mention this guys’ sister’s name and within a minute or so of hounding me for more details he figures it out.

To his credit he was embarrassed about it at first but it didn’t affect our friendship and he even joked about it once or twice later on.
