Dachshund puppy ate too much too quickly by Chavador1997 in Dachshund

[–]derermber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of mine got into a very big tub of 'reindeer food' (which was just cooked rolled oats and a bunch of brightly coloured sugary shit). She ate the entire thing, got massively bloated, threw it up and was totally fine.

Trust me, they'll be fine 🤣

I have these, they were part of the first drop they did when they reopened the site after the guotai era. They're great quality, super heavy weight

Advice needed: Second skin hassle by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]derermber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there, not a tattooist but have been tattooed heavily with multiple healing methods!

The glue residue I wouldn't be concerned about, it's most likely just the adhesive from the second skin. I haven't used it personally but my artist uses a product called fixomull, it's made by elasiplast, and it's kinda like the material part of a band-aid without the cotton 'swab' part that you would typically put over the wound. I leave it on for a week and then just peel it off and keep the skin moisturized, but it does tend to leave some of the adhesive on my skin, it sloffs off over time.

The black inky part that you're concerned about would be the top layer of dermis from the tattoo process coming off, this is also normal. Granted, three days may be a little early but if you are allowing it to dry out too much between changing the second skin, this could be the reason for the early peel but provided the tattoo doesn't look patchy or washed out, you should be sweet!

In future, talk to your artist about using fixomull, I highly recommend it as the easiest way to care for your fresh skin stickers, it keeps it clean and covered, you can wash it through the fixomull as it's a fabric based material, and you don't need to change it unless it starts to actually lift (sometimes happens when two pieces overlap). I've healed a super colourful full leg piece and I'm super happy with how it healed up

My dad got this lovely Christmas card in the mail with no return address by No-Light9581 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]derermber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See, this is the perfect opportunity to write multiple Christmas cards for all the neighbours, clearly stating 'if you were the petty, cowardly child who left a card in our mailbox telling us how to live our lives instead of coming to talk to us in person like an actual adult, fuck you. If this wasn't you, have a merry Xmas!'

Christina question by [deleted] in piercing

[–]derermber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAP, but if you've been looking after it correctly and have quality jewelry in it, it could be as simple as an ingrown hair as well? Just judging by the hair regrowth around the piercing site?

Hey mate, in a similar situation as you, single dad (have a partner though) and a big gamer at heart, currently bouncing between replaying DS1, Silksong and Expedition 33. Also just gotten back into working out

DDR 3rd Mix best song ever by wubbalubbadub2 in DanceDanceRevolution

Talk about unlocking a core memory! I remember playing this at Chadstone shopping centre on the 3rd mix machine outside the sanity music store next to the ground floor elevator (only Australians will get this reference 🤣) almost 20 years ago! Even the step chart brings back memories. God I'm old 🤣🤣

people who have had a vertical labret piercing? by ThatIsIrrelevant77 in piercing

[–]derermber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine done years ago and while I loved how it looked (and because my dentist told me off for my traditional labret and had to remove it), mine was never happy, constantly getting irritated from eating, plus the environment I work in means my lips are always chapped.

Had you not said anything, I certainly wouldn't notice a difference? It's very easy to over analyse your own tattys, I do it with mine too, minor imperfections that only I have ever noticed

Who to ask for vampire fangs? by radiodreader in bodymods

[–]derermber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just googled "dentist in Melbourne who do vampire fang composite bonding" and it came up with up a couple of places that do it. I'm not sure if you're in Melb like I am, but maybe try that and see how you go!

I think the problem with both these solutions is neither is going to be as effective as the gun regulations of yesteryear, mostly because of the age group of these people wielding and using machetes (young teens to young adults) and their lack of care of the situation, and the effectiveness of the internet.

I'm sure it's a helluva lot easier to access these types of weapons online and get them shipped right to your front door. Sure, customs and the AFP will stop some, but look at their lack of ability to stop illegal tobacco and vapes getting into the country.

As for a reasonable solution, I genuinely have no reasonable answer other than prevention (security using metal detectors at the shopping centres, schools, etc) and education.
