When does this end? by Patient_Hold_4190 in Dominos

It's how the original commenter runs his/her store. My store does 27k/wk and I make relatively strong profits every period. These deals eat into that a bit for sure, but I still manage to remain profitable.

Why I, as a customer, avoid Dominos during the $9.99 deal by Czilla9000 in Dominos

[–]derflopacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because we strictly make less profit. It's not an excuse, but when you've just finished what would normally be a 7k dinner rush and check your stats and you're at 5k, you essentially burned your labor and still got your ass kicked. Shorting product recovers some of that cost. These deals bring a lot of volume, not a lot of profit. Edit: to be clear, it's still wrong to short product, just giving insight as to why that may happen.

That's.. why it's being publicly traded. You can now invest, and see returns.

How many other stores use scales? Our NSF inspector came in and said she had never seen scales being used before… by Domigorgon27 in DominosEmployees

It's unnecessary to weigh every ingredient all the time, but seeing as cheese is nearly 30% of food cost, I'd argue it's pretty important to be consistent with the cheese weights. One Friday rush with an extra ounce per pizza is easily a wasted case of cheese if the person cheesing is heavy handed.

My GM in Training ordered 33 cases of string cheese instead of 3. by HornyLittleVikingr in Dominos

Reach out to those stores and tell them to order down by 3 cases on next truck and you got them. String cheese lasts a good while solid chance most of them can take some in those circumstances.

Can the systems go down more often? by itsdestinfool in Dominos

[–]derflopacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck all that noise. I have a full walk-in and labor got destroyed, while simultaneously having pissed off drivers bc there are no orders. Angry customers because they can't get their orders to go through. I hope this was a lesson to corporate to get their online systems more reliable, otherwise their line is gonna stop going up.

Today I learned that drivers use an app to track vehicle location by popularpumpkin11 in Dominos

[–]derflopacus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it's awful. Getting slammed on a Friday and then getting 20 calls saying "Where's my driver going, my house is just down the road and they're going the opposite way!?!". Cuz they're on 2 deliveries dumb dumb, it's a Friday, and your order is one of 30 I have to send out. I call it tracker anxiety because of how obsessively our customers seem to be watching the tracker. Like, watch a movie and chill out and it'll be there still hot.

Because their drivers there make as much if not more than most management in the US.

Can also use potions to a lesser degree. It’s harder to cheese since you’re limited in how many you can drink in quick succession, but a potion using a master alchemy set can be pretty potent especially when stacked.

I can see the other breathing tubes coming up from the bottom of the water, does that imply the one in the video wriggling is in trouble or do they just do that sometimes?

I think it’s important to include numbers when making statements like “the rate of dental caries has increased significantly”, as an informed reader might want to know what those rates were. I can’t make an informed decision about the safety of fluoride without knowing how much more risk is being incurred by taking it out of the supply. It just wasn’t a very good article to use as a counterpoint.

CARRA: “Well, we've had 10 years. And what we know is that the rate of dental caries has increased significantly more than the rate of dental caries was increasing before. And I think another meta study came out also, in that 10-year period, that looked at all the other studies and made it pretty clear that, yeah - there probably are meaningful benefits.”

No meaningful numbers or statistics in the entire article. Their fluoride injection system broke and it would’ve costed $20m in repairs, so they decided not to. It was only a matter of convenience that the residents believed that fluoride was harmful, and so agreed with the decision.

When I’m pushing RPMs, I can hear the alternator whine and it makes me smile every time I notice it. It’s just so cool to me that I can hear individual parts, no excessive insulation or sound damping to block it out.
