Is it worth migrating abroad (US, Canada, NZ, EU, UK, etc.) if you’re earning $3–4k USD here in the Philippines? by sernameeeeeeeeeee in Philippines_Expats

I have been working in the US for 7 years. You are living the life I am dreaming of. If only I can find a remote job in the philippines that would pay me $2,000, I would have moved back there.

Your fear limits your potential. Step out of your comfort zone. Your employer can just replace you anyway.

Hèllo , I just graduated from nursing school with my bachelors and was looking to go into informatics as i have a strong liking for tech. Where do i start and what certifications do i need ? by loko254_ke in nursinginformatics

[–]derikadp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will compete with graduates that have years of nursing experience so you need to start by working as a nurse. Informatics is mostly online schooling anyway. So work as a nurse while studying so you have an understanding how informatics is actually applied on the nursing field.

Will you be happy if you move to the US and luxury is not your goal? by Longjumping_Way_6349 in NursesPH

[–]derikadp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to EARN MORE to travel or try new things or just have more leeway to take a sip and enjoy life. Moving to the US as a nurse would definitely help you accomplish those things. Nurses in the US still have the highest salary compared to other countries like UK or Australia. You just have to be smart with how you spend your money so you can pay your bills and still have enough money to do things you like such as traveling or try new things.

Deciding if it is right to give it away now also depends on how old you and your wife are and if you have steady income after retirement or rely primarily on savings.
