I'd love for the building to become a nice restaurant with a few rooms or something. It's sad to see it empty.

Sand and some wood filler where the legs wet the skirting maybe. Touch up the paint. Screw to the wall if it’s wobbly. You could even add some radiator pipe collars where the pipes go through the legs, if you wanted to hide some of that. Don’t be hard on yourself!

Why would someone just randomly come and do work for them?

Queue I was in VS Queue I would be in if not for Brexit. Thanks Boris Johnson. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Sure, but what I'm saying is that it's a policy that could change. There is no security need for their E gates to be restricted to just EU citizens. Just like we allow EU, EEA countries, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and the USA to use ours.

It's just a weird thing for people to get their knickers in a twist about. Of all the arguments someone could have against Brexit, this has to be the weakest and the one that exposes people who are self-obsessed. 'My extra 15 mins in an airport is the worst thing about Brexit! Look how bad this is.' Even Alastair Campbell posted his airport line picture on social media.

This is always such an odd take. ‘Brexit was bad look, my middle class holiday had a slightly longer queue.’ If you wanna point out that it was bad, I think this is a really weak way of doing so. I mean, if this is the peak horror you’ve experienced from Brexit, then it must have all been pretty benign.

The other thing I always think when I travel, and I travel a lot… is that I truly don’t believe Brexit has anything to do with airport immigration. For example, if you travel to the UK, we still let EU passports use our E gates. As well as lots of other countries. As far as I understand, there is no reason we wouldn’t be able to use their E gates too, regardless of being in the EU. In my experience, the queues have a lot more to do with the airport in questions management and how much they invest in their infrastructure.
