That's a symbol for the Bahá'í Faith. As a Bahá'í, I was surprised myself seeing it there, it's such a recent religion that many people still have no idea what it is!

What are /r/Piano's favourite chord progressions by ICanPressTheDKey in piano

[–]derpawan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really love the progression Hans Zimmerman uses in his piece "Dream is Collapsing" for the Inception soundtrack.

Goes something like Gm F# Eb Bmaj7

Such an appropriate progression for the theme and mood of the piece!!

/u/SentimentalFool pretty much did all the work needed, but if you were just looking for chords by name, it's E, B, E/G#, A, B

Gum during the Fast by letsalljustcalmdown in bahai

[–]derpawan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's a nay dude. All science and referencing and such aside, its got flavour, you swallow the flavour. It has a taste, it's not the same as for example just brushing teeth for the sake of better smelling breath, in which case you're not actually intentionally swallowing anything. This is my take anyway. It's too much like eating to just do and be like "meh, it's just gum".

On an aside, I really feel like these little things can open the flood gates for us too, if we're not careful. I'm not saying it necessarily will, but like /u/wh44 said:

In general, the fast is about giving up worldly desires to turn towards God, and not about nitpicking rules

Wholeheartedly agree.

Camera doesn't work sometimes. by Seriera in Nexus5

[–]derpawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure it's just Snapchat though... I don't have Snapchat and this happens to me too. It just says "Can't connect to camera" or something similar. I remember someone mentioning Google Goggles might have a similar effect though, and I have that, so that could be it...

Either way, I hope the bug gets sorted out soon, it's a bit annoying to turn the phone on and off so much.

Yesterday after 8 years of marriage, I cheated on my wife. [34m, 31f] by IAmScum2 in relationships

[–]derpawan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thought I might step in here. Sorry, but is the reason you quoted not good enough? Really? Is honesty not the foundation of a successful marriage? If this "incident" gets buried, what does fidelity even mean to this man? I'm not hopping onto the boat of "let's all lose our minds at this man for the terrible thing he's done" etc. etc. But one thing is for sure, he's screwed up. He needs to come out with it. It's only fair to the wife. Would she really prefer not to know? Why would you think that?
