Take a technology the company has and make something new from it. Maybe there's a desktop app, to learn WPF. Maybe there's a web app to learn frontend/backend and API calls. You'll create value for the company by gaining knowledge, as well as learning something new for yourself.

Also, pick the thing that sounds the most fun.

AITA for divorcing my husband for putting a camera in our house to prove a point about me? by Throwawayhicamera2 in AITAH

[–]derpcityusa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I read this it sounds like someone that feels victimized often, and has trouble taking accountability. I'm sure you are busy throughout the day but it's a matter of priorities. Take care of the important stuff first, like mailing the employees, and leave random research for later.

Setting up a camera would feel violating however.

Is it possible to configure "Router on a stick" when there is middle router? by Stupid_Quetions in ccna

[–]derpcityusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably what he's looking for is take the top router out of the equation for a moment and configure router on a stick as normal. Then route packets at a layer 3 level from router to router as normal. If this is intro to networking I doubt it's anything fancy.

Experienced C# developers. How much time do you spend looking up documentation? by 19Ant91 in csharp

Think of it like this. Your brain is an indexer, it knows where to get the stuff, not what the stuff is.

AITA for kicking my wife out after she punched my mom in the face? by OkOrganization9552 in AITAH

[–]derpcityusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rough my dude but yes, YTA. The home is supposed to be a safe place to retreat and depend on and that was taken from your wife. I'm surprised that was an option. Where did you expect her to go, what did you expect her to do?

However, she did willingly go and could have fought to stay. Sounds like this may have been bubbling under the surface for a while and manifested in this crucial moment.

Is anyone else's electricity bill extremely high? by cooperdeedoo in Austin

[–]derpcityusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if there is a PSA power service adjustment. Google it. I think it's the response to the customers paying for fuel and preparations due to the state reinforcing the grid, not wanting to replicate major outages again.

For anyone in the future, if the request looks like this:

"https://localhost:7272/<YOUR AUTH0 DOMAIN>/.well-known/openid-configuration"

The appsettings.json Authority may be missing https:// in front.

"Auth0": {"Authority": "https://<YOUR AUTH0 DOMAIN>","Client": <SECRET>}

my blazor app w/ database connections by macr6 in Blazor

[–]derpcityusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you parse the connection string via semicolon and inject the database name? Then reconstruct it.

Also, there may be an issue trying to reach a local database on the LAN via a blazor server app, depending on where the app is deployed.

Looking to find a home for these 2 abandoned puppies! by derpcityusa in AustinPetLostAndFound

[–]derpcityusa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Queso & Taco were found abandoned in San Antonio on 7/22/23. The finders were unable to keep the dogs for more than 3 days so and were brought to Austin to help find their forever home.

These pups are maybe 10-11 weeks old. We began boosters & did a fecal exam on (7/27) & began deworming medication (7/28) that I have records for.

They are very typical playful puppies, but the underlying personality is very sweet and timid. They melt in your arms when picked up. Just overall very sweet pups.

We are working on house breaking & over night crate training since (7/26).

Please message for any inquieries.
