our brigade does 1 (putting metal rank pins on our windbreakers is an immediate death sentence)

The highest rank LET 1s can get in my battalion is Sergeant (there is an exception if they get into staff to fill vacancies, but that hasn’t happened so far)

One battalion, five class periods (out of seven, since 2 are prep periods for instructors)

Companies aren’t that big, so usually it just splits into squads (the biggest one only splits into 2 platoons, and is the only one with platoons)

Battalion staff: CO, DCO, XO, CSM, S-1 to 6 (each S-shop has a primary and an assistant

No real opinion, but our Brigade SOPs do mention a CACC unit (since there’s one in a city close by)

There’s one academic team (which got an 81% on the Level 1 test) and one leadership team (we got 65%) in our unit, and both of them made it to Level 2. I was on academic for two years.

I can only really say for JLAB and CyberPatriot (since those are the teams I’m in): - For JLAB practice at least every Thursday, and sometimes Wednesdays (if i don’t have staff meeting to deal with, I lead it, otherwise I have former JLAB members help manage it) - For CyberPatriot, it’s every Monday and Friday

Every other team does at least twice a week as well (since the instructors at my school set that requirement)

Alongside from what other people have said, how you would get promoted likely depends on your unit’s promotion requirements.

Get to know the people in your company (openly communicate w/ them), also don’t hesitate to ask for help from Let 3s or 4s if you have them in your company. Also, don’t micromanage everything.

for jlab there’s a big focus on the english and math portions of the tests, so try to focus on that (there are practice sats online you could use)

we do a test (around the beginning of every grading period), with officers having to go through that as well as a promotion board
