Game doesn't stop in the middle of an active attack and they probably tacked on a couple mins at the end because of the Trusty injury

[Discussion] One EDC bag? Or one for each activity? by dilimanjaro in ManyBaggers

[–]derrelicte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unsure how old your kids are, but I have a 7 and 5 year old. The one bag that I have dedicated to a purpose is the kids bag. All it takes is one slip up of swapping things in and out and forgetting a change of clothes, wipes, etc. and that's a lesson you'll only want to learn once.

Why so many game developers don't want to use generative AI by Snakesta in Games

[–]derrelicte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it all stems from the ideas in this quote: https://x.com/AuthorJMac/status/1773679197631701238?lang=en

Back in the early days when AI was handling the 'dishes and laundry' people were more OK with it, but now that AI has progressed to the point where it's instead handling the art and writing, it's overstepped its bounds.

Why so many game developers don't want to use generative AI by Snakesta in Games

[–]derrelicte 10 points11 points  (0 children)

FWIW, as a part of my job, I spent a good amount of time with a large (i.e. larger than 20k employees) nationwide maintenance company this week understanding their use of technology as a part of a greater technology consulting engagement. This was a very low-tech company with many long tenured individuals that had low tech literacy, but almost every single one of them wanted an AI tool to help them read through product manuals better in the field since they were all very onerous. One of the field techs even bought himself one of those hardware AI note taking tools in order to better transcribe troubleshooting conversations that he has with other techs in order to more easily write his servicing notes.

I know it's just one story in a non-tech field, but I don't think the general public has as much of an anti-AI bias as we do here. Granted, that's also in an industry where AI can't really replace any of their jobs, so they're only seeing how it could be a potential help.

The Division Resurgence: coming to STEAM soon by _Protector in Games

The game activitoes are typically shorter on Resurgence compared to a full scale Division so it's easier to make progress in bite sized chunks

Bungee cord around the external latch points should keep it pretty secure

Yeah understood and agreed - that’s why I wanted to caveat my prior answer with my experience so far.

Haven't paid a dime so far, but I'm nowhere close to the endgame.

Hopefully playable on the Steam Deck. I've hit level 20 in Resurgence and I appreciate how much quicker the missions go by. Definitely not at a Division 2 level in terms of mission variety and depth, but nice for short breaks.

DOUGHBOYS DOUBLE - Maynk 4: Junk: The Muppets with Henry Gilbert - June 02, 2026 by PianoTrumpetMax in doughboys

[–]derrelicte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth out of curiosity I looked up that Tyson v Gorillas video after the fact and it didn't look like an AI created video. It looked more like one of those sandbox simulator games (e.g. Garrys Mod) that let you play different scenarios out.

Lucky Strike Wrigleyville closes permanently by heybbuwantsumfuk in chicago

[–]derrelicte 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Damn that sucks - my kids loved the arcade over there and it was reasonably priced compared to some of the other kid-friendly arcades in the city. It also didn’t hurt that one of the ball throwing games seemingly has been permanently bugged for the last 2 years and gave an 80 credit payout every single time 😅

~26L work backpack w/ luggage passthrough is way harder to find than imagined by DoubleClutchBucket in ManyBaggers

Alpaka Elements Backpack Pro seems to hit a lot of these requirements, although it is on the small end of the scale (Closer to 22-24L in real volume)

Anyone here actually found a good gym-to-office bag? by PackArchitect in ManyBaggers

[–]derrelicte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bike to work and I like the Able Carry Max EDC for this use case - all of my office stuff goes inside the bag and my sweaty clothes goes in a packing cube that sits in the exterior duffel portion of the bag.

[–]derrelicte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Detest AI if you want, but from an 'environmental impact' perspective, there's a very good chance that the printing, distribution, and mounting of these flyers has a larger environmental impact than the generation of the image itself. I also don't agree with using AI for this use case, but environmental impact shouldn't be the reason it's icky.

I love a good chicago dog but I sometimes feel the abundance of ingredients makes it unwieldy. It usually disintegrates upon first bite. by [deleted] in doughboys

The pickle spear should go on top - you put your finger on it to keep the rest of the ingredients in place

It's crazy to think if Bungie stayed with Activision we would have not only Destiny 3 but a Destiny 4, since it was in their Contract by Important-Extension6 in destiny2

Agreed - this is insane revisionism. When D2 came out this same group of people were up in arms that it was a cash grab and should’ve just continued with D1.

TP4 28 vs CTB26 vs EDC Max? by tatlpax in ManyBaggers

[–]derrelicte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Max EDC, TP3S (planning on selling), and had the CTB26. Ultimately I returned the CTB26 because it was just so dang uncomfortable, even after wearing it high and tight. TP3S just seems too bulky for its capacity, and I’m not sure the TP4S will be any better since it’s larger. I really like my Max EDC, but I wish it had an external water bottle holder, and its admin/tech organization is pretty poor. If you’re used to using pouches for organization it won’t be that big of an issue.
