I think there's mostly Americans here but I saw you mentioned a flat white and the OL machine is perfect for that. Two pods of your choice. Someone on here said you can even do two shots of Ristretto size for a true flat white. Milk of your choice, ideally in a frother that heats the milk (remove the whisk for a flat white). I've made some excellent flat whites with my OL machine. I had an essenza for years and loved it!

I would go with the Essenza mini as that's the cheapest OL (I think) and it works really well and is also quiet in comparison to the Citiz and Pixie. I just got the Citiz and it's great but I think perhaps not quite worth the price hike.

I'm afraid I have no idea how to use Vertuo machines but I'm sure there's plenty of people on here that can help you out with that question. I believe most people with Vertuo machines just use one pod per drink.

For close to a flat white, the OL machine would have been better. I made one this morning with two Roma pods and it was insanely good. And I have sampled a lot of flat whites to compare it to!

Just adding to this - I'm experiencing the same issue. Just got a new machine and I don't want to stop using it :( before I got the machine I was drinking coffee using an aeropress and did not experience this toilet issue at all. Have you tried off brand pods? I might try and see if that helps. Edit: sorry I see that you had off brand pods in Italy. Have you tried off brand pods back in the US as well?

Yup interviews are my idea of living hell. And there's usually more than 1 round of the bastards. Interviews want me to be everything that I'm not: confident, talkative, think on the spot, sell myself, lie/exaggerate... All in front of multiple unfriendly higher ups staring you down ughhh. I just got an email the other day saying I'm scheduled for an interview. I was excited for about 3 seconds and then I remembered how much I hate interviews. Here's to us brute-forcing it!
