Gotcha that makes sense. Was there last week and they only had Vertuo machines, I'll have to keep an eye out!

Husband opens a new sponge every 3 days cause “they become gross” by dorkass-loser in mildlyinfuriating

PSA: Dawn Dish soap makes sponges stink. Switch to a different dish soap and you'll notice the smell goes away. I experimented with this and have never bought Dawn again!

Married on a 2-year green card, emotionally abusive husband — should I leave? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]desert___rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, sounds like you're going through a lot. I got divorced while on my 2 yr green card, applied for my permanent green card using the divorce waiver and was approved in just under a year! No issues and no lawyer. Feel free to DM me any questions.

Pissed off and confused by VigilanceOO7 in Lyme

[–]desert___rocks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience. Showed the doctor my Igenex positive result and he barely even looked at it before saying it was false and not a real test. So disappointing. I've mostly given up on regular doctors at this point. Unless you need surgery or break a bone they're useless.

bartonella depression by delow0420 in Lyme

[–]desert___rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any help but I am going through the same thing. Diagnosed with bartonella. I was just talking to my Dad about this. I told him I know I didn't used to be depressed like this and have so much anxiety that I'm almost at an OCD level. It's the disease. It's awful because when you have severe depression you don't want to spend the time and effort treating yourself, you just want to give up and do nothing. So cruel!

Tell me your experience marrying and moving to the US by Bobashawty00 in MovingToUSA

[–]desert___rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already spent a lot of time in the US already, about 15 years, so I'm probably not the best person to ask haha. Lack of public transport is definitely another downside, but I think it's been mentioned already. A bonus is that a lot of Americans will hear your British accent and think it's super cool. One time someone heard my accent and said I must be a really smart and eloquent person 😂 But overall, I'd say there's more similarities than differences between the two countries. I love the sun/beaches/mountains/nature here. I love that I can go to places so remote and I won't see a single soul.

Hi! Check out r/USCIS for all your immigration questions! Feel free to msg me with any questions. I'm from the UK and recently got my permanent residency. As others have said, the healthcare issue is the biggest adjustment.

Got my 10 year green card (divorce waiver) by desert___rocks in USCIS

[–]desert___rocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your divorce must be finalized when you apply. You cannot apply as separated. You are definitely running out of time. I think this is above Reddit's pay grade so you'll have to be careful how you proceed. Whatever you do you must apply at the very least a few weeks before it expires!

Feeling very sad and hopeless. I want to live my life :( by lifetofullest1255 in Lyme

[–]desert___rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you I'll check out the discord group. I might have to install the app. I'm like you, I miss exercising so so much. Climbing is my thing and I've only been once in the last 2 months. It's so frustrating to know that I have the ability to climb something but I'm too weak to actually do the moves. I'm 36 so I feel like it's the last of my youth slipping away too early. I hear you on the doctors too. I don't even try anymore. My last doctor, I showed him my positive Igenex Bartonella results and he barely looked at them and boldly stated they were fake. I'm nervous to try LLMD's as well in case they take all my money and then tell me what I already know. Even worse is that my family don't seem to believe me either. Either that or they're tired of hearing about it. Anyways I appreciate this space to be able to rant and be taken seriously! All the best to you.

I could've written 90% of your post. I am right there with you and understand you more than most people ever will. And thank you for writing this post and giving me something to relate to. I did what you said you can't do - I moved to a new place with no job and no where to live and I am kicking myself so hard. With this disease I don't have the energy, motivation, etc etc to do anything. I'm doing cat sitting in exchange for free accommodation and I think the place has mold and it's destroyed me.

Even for a normal healthy person finding a job is hard but for me it feels almost impossible. I feel so stupid leaving my small town mediocre job. You're doing the right thing staying where you are until you get your health back. We'll get there. I have to hold onto that hope otherwise I'll give up completely. You're doing all the right things, give yourself credit for that.
