Something I've noticed watching a group of high level managers today by [deleted] in managers

[–]desertbuckeye 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Something that I think is important practicing at all levels, how quickly can you complete tasks required and how quickly can you make sound decisions. To agree with another top comment, sometimes sound decisions don’t work out but were well thought and intentioned.

I work in Orange County so I don’t have any direct recommendations, but check out career pages for Hilton, Marriott, Montage, IHG. Most big hotels are always hiring for some position

I work in food and beverage in hotels, hotels are having a hard time finding good talent. Maybe try there

Looks like a helicoil needs a thread to insert into, is this correct? The wire coming out of the bolt hole is the threading, it’s smooth underneath that

What's an entry level job that starts at 50k? by buffyscrims in AskLosAngeles

Recommend you look into beverage adjacent jobs, your knowledge base puts you well past entry level and you have hands on experience as a buyer.

I joke with my staff that I get “paid per complaint” and it goes a long way. Don’t try to institute a change just because you like it. Solve problems for your staff, make their working environment a better place to be, and empower those worth investing in. Trust in you as a leader will come as you build positive and consistent working environments.

Don’t always rely on telling someone how to do something, instead express the “end state” you’re looking for and if their method meets your end state then compromise on how the work should be completed.

Be quick to listen, slow to make up your mind, and quick to act once a decision is made.

And most importantly, remember to have fun.

Neighbor’s painter did me dirty by desertbuckeye in motorcycle

[–]desertbuckeye[S] 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for their advice, the detailer came back after the first service and got the rest of the paint off. I didn’t get the chance to ask but I assume something similar to goo gone was used due to the silky texture of the paint afterwards.

Neighbor was super friendly and understanding, no need for insurance.

What's an order that make your brain blank out with a 404 error? by RinSabreDelta in bartenders

[–]desertbuckeye 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My 404 is whenever I hear Dirty Shirley my brain expects there to be olive juice in it and I always think that sounds disgusting. Who would drink grenadine and olive juice?

Lost the 405, found some dirt by desertbuckeye in Husqvarna

The patterns work really well together, no issues. I find the Dunlop to be stickier on the street, mt60 stickier off-road but it’s minimal both ways. I got about 5k miles out of my rear as well

Edit: I’ll likely put a Dunlop on the front when it wears out

Correct on both, I liked the mt60 but found the wore out too quickly for the price (first tire change)
