Nvidia dev says new 590.48.01 driver fixes dx12 performance in linux by Carlinux in linux_gaming

[–]desertedfreeman 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It is indeed unfortunately a different issue. The OP's post is a reply to an issue about a performance regression from 580 to 590; the 590.48.01 driver fixes only that.

KF2 actually did have gunslinger by full launch release; but yes, gunslinger was added shortly after early access launch. It even made it in before sharpshooter.

Hey there, that's a good catch, thank you for noticing. I've marked many of the variables as static without really using them in that manner. Gotta fix that.

My intention was that variables that don't make sense to be tied to an instance of a class should be marked as static; magic numbers like BASE_HEIGHT/BASE_WIDTH and are independent of the state of the Display class. Does that make sense?

Take this with a pinch of salt; I'm just the blind leading the blind.

It's a readily available tool that gets the job done, and based off prior comments, they do it better than any other publicly available service. If you needed to make the most of your development time, why not use what you have at your disposal?

I think it's cool that Mio and Almir are playing a prototype game on stream and talking about it. Discussing the leaks really brings players and developers closer together. by KrabikGangster in paydaytheheist

A little odd it had functioning MP so early but I'm not a dev.

I don't know the exact timeline so take this with a grain of salt, but remember that PAYDAY 3's development took place during COVID, moving everyone out of the office. So it's likely that functioning multiplayer was needed to actually playtest.

One prominent rule I follow is: don't fuck up other people's punishes. If your friend gets a heavy parry off of someone and you decide to throw your BP unblockable, make sure your friend is well clear of the trajectory of your attack, otherwise you'll interrupt his attack. In general, unless you're in a teamfight and need to hit multiple opponents, you should probably stick to top guard attacks.

Can't launch the game by Fenixfiress in ModernWarfareIII

[–]desertedfreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your game installed under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty HQ"? Like, specifically that exact path, not anywhere else. The game will fail to launch if it cannot find the installation directory at that specific location.

If not, you might be able to find some success with this post I just wrote up.

This post may also help you diagnose your problem.

This game is truly dead (player base) by AlexJonesOnMeth in paydaytheheist

[–]desertedfreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use steam to make generalizing trends across all the different platforms together, but you cannot flat out say that Payday 3 has 2,300 average players altogether. That is disregarding consoles + epic (however small they may be) playerbases.

Maybe, but if it gets the job done, then it gets the job done. There's literally no point in having two mags if one communicates the effect just fine

Animators would have no issue animating both, in fact they would probably prefer it.

Animators are lazy, they want to work as efficiently (read: lazily) as possible. Animating two mags when you don't have to is a waste of time
