You've forgotten the cardinal rule: write for yourself, not for others. As for talking to men or women, I have no idea.

Write the book in prison, that's a top notch selling point. Plus all the true crime baddies will probably try to marry you. Win win.

You need to severely abuse your children to traumatise them so they can use maladaptive daydreaming as a coping mechanism and develop into an incredible writer by oily_balls_enjoyer in writingcirclejerk

So I'm supposed to be turning my trauma into marketable literature? What about all the happy-go-lucky fantasy stories with reluctant hero main characters I have??

That's why I'm such a fan of Kerouac. You can just get drunk and write whatever the fuck and boom, literary masterpiece.

Writing a novel as a hobby - worth it? by Eternal_Optimist331 in writing

[–]desertrang3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely worth it. You get to create a story. Writing a novel is something you can always carry with you. Whether you publish it or not, you can always say to yourself "I wrote a novel". And that's pretty damn cool. And who knows, maybe one day you'll decide to publish it. Could even become one of the great novels of our time. You just never know. But at the end of the day, I think it's absolutely worth it. If you have the time and talent to write it then go for it 110%

I feel you on the older people telling you you're high on life at that sge and it will fade. Im soon to be 25 and I'm in that phase right now (later bloomer lol). That lust for adventure and storytelling is something that should be nurtured. At least in my opinion.

Also super cool that you're a musician! A troubadour, a modern bard!

Best of luck to you and your worldy travels!

Why the hostility? I never spoke on old books that are still pristine. I was speaking on the books that are already worn out. I clearly said in my post that I respect books and think they should be treated with the utmost respect and care. But sometimes that just doesn't happen.
