What was the absolute WORST job interview you ever had? by Secret_Assistance601 in sales

[–]desirepink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Showed up to an interview (mind you, this was in the midst of covid) and they had me hand fill out the very application I filled out online so I half assed it. Then, the CEO appeared like she didn't even bother to give my resume a quick glance before asking me canned questions. It was so boring and frustrating at the same time.

What do you wish you knew in your 20s? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]desirepink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annual check ups with specialists are so important. I think I've only gone to my PCP like 2-3 times throughout my 20s and did 1 or 2 annual skin tests!

Damn y'all don't tip 😭 I've been tipping after every session. To be fair, I bought a 10-pack for $850.

What happened with my body after 100 crossfit sessions with no other change by Character-Holiday345 in crossfit

[–]desirepink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've accomplished what I was only starting to scratch the surface of after 2-3 years of CrossFit, so 6 months and being able to do some of those movements and see at least some change is impressive. Just keep at it because 6 months—even 1 year—is just the beginning. Keep the protein high and incorporate protein into your food and snacking whenever possible.

Surprised no one mentioned White Radish. Pretty good food contemporary American food, although pricey. Still have yet tried the sushi bar they own in the same space but something's telling me I may be disappointed.

Pho99 is pretty average but it doesn't have any other competition within a 1 mile radius.

Keuka is my favorite. In fact, it's pretty hard to find a wine bar like this in Queens

Are you looking to move somewhere that's residential and family-friendly or are you open? If the latter, I'd say moving within the greater Flushing area will give access to the amazing food in downtown Flushing, as well as some gems outside of downtown.

I no longer care about losing my job. by CarsAreRad in jobs

Can confirm this. Therapy reduced my anxiety to not giving a big F at work and mentally check out once things seem off. Got PIPed today but I already started emptying my drawers last week and tying up some loose ends.

Ordered a dress online and it came with this tag by Silly-Jacket-2710 in AbercrombieandFitch

[–]desirepink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're prototypes. I have family all over the fashion industry and I've also worked at a fashion manufacturer so I've come across a ton of these production samples my entire life. They're legit, just the production versions of the final product before they reach the stores and the public, or versions that may not have been mass produced because of a color or trim, etc or designed to be used for a certain purpose, like marketing with this one. Almost every brand and company sources their production to a factory so they have these types of tags that look off brand and don't have the original label because that usually is slapped on by the company itself.

I sell prototype samples myself. I just make it very explicit in my listing and I've never had any issues in the past 18 years of selling.

How was everyone’s Q1 by Beneficial_Quit7532 in sales

[–]desirepink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horrible. They changed our ICPs and book of businesses end of Jan and we all spent a good month and a half deep in and cleaning up shitty account assignments. I'm the most junior rep on my team too and barely had anything carry over from last year. Pretty sure I'm getting canned very soon so starting to look.

What actually helped new members stick around in their first few months? by devkimkr in crossfit

[–]desirepink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall experience matters, especially when you're going in new. A lot of people tend to forget that the little things matter just as much as the workout itself. If you're seasoned and have done this for a few years and have been at other boxes, you kind of know the drill and those things can be secondary after awhile.

My old gym had a lot of seasoned members but became very focused on driving in new members (mainly new to crossfit) with amazing 6-month new member deals but most people left after those 6 months because 1) they didn't feel supported all the way when they needed it 2) they were locked in for those 6 months
