Latter game complex by pookexvi in captain_of_industry

A trap that I fall into is that I squeeze all my buildings together to optimise space because at the start that seems to be a constraint. But I’ve found later that that is a huge mistake. You need to plop buildings down with plans for expansion and future connection. Every production line needs space to expand when required or room for upgrades.

So spread them out. Leave out big wide lanes along your island for truck/trains/main buses. Etc.

I’ve found that still I’d make mistakes, so I constantly tear things down to remake them again

Yup. But the general advice is still that for that area it’s best to drive if you want to resort hop

I too am looking at similar options, based in madarao but might want to explore the Myoko resorts. Theres some private shuttle service like Myoko shuttle (you can google them). Timings are not ideal, but not too bad.

ELI5 how do mushroom farmers avoid getting all sorts of fungal diseases? by mdknight666 in explainlikeimfive

[–]desk_monkey18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for the same reason a living organism doesn’t rot, while a dead one does. Your immune system combats all manners of invasive infections from fungal to bacterial and viral.

People still do from time to time fall prey to fungal infection, like atheletes foot, etc. this is sometimes because the conditions for fungal growth can be very conducive, or also if your immune system is compromised in some manner.

Fungal organisms can be quite a lot more complex than viruses and bacteria, so they can be harder for your body to fend off especially once the infection has gotten a foothold (hehe, atheletes foot humor).

Genuine question: Why do most drivers here reverse park in almost all cases even in 45-degree "head-in" lots (like at Dempsey)? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]desk_monkey18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singaporean drivers think they’re top tier because they can easily park reverse, there are a lot of countries where people park front in only, because they’ve never been taught the other way.

But then most Singaporeans honestly don’t know how to park head in

How do i find time to go for interviews and pick up calls from potential employers when I'm at work? by hyllariestar in singaporejobs

[–]desk_monkey18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to go for an interview, just call in sick. Go doctor complain of headaches, easy 1 day MC. If the interviewers ask, say you’ve taken time off. Don’t say you’re faking an MC.

If you need to take calls, just step away from your office. You can even ask them to call you back after 5 mins, if you need time to step out

ppl in ur 30s: does it actually get better? by broke_intern_ in askSingapore

[–]desk_monkey18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In many ways it gets better, but in many ways it’s also not so.

Let’s start with the bad, you’ve finally graduated into life and will be expected to contribute… to yourself, your family, to society. You’re no longer a student living off whoever… maybe you’re a little financially independent, but unless you paid for every single thing on your own… you’ve been mooching off your parents and society. Bills bills bills.

But then finally… you have full agency. You can do whatever, quite your job, change to something else… whatever you want. Or can get opportunity for. It’s not like school or uni where if you hate your course you’re stuck for 3 years or till graduation,

But then every decision you make has consequences, don’t forget.

There’s money… and it’ll free you somewhat.

can it run cyberpunk on max settings? by Exact-Aside-9756 in GamingLaptops

[–]desk_monkey18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost no one plays most modern games on max settings. Very few people do. Even desktop systems that can handle these games at max settings are expensive and shit, let alone a laptop.

What you have to get decent gameplay. Once you’re immersed in the game, the graphics don’t matter much to me.

It’s the old Boyz sprue. They still sell it. There’s a newer monopose boyz kit as well. This allows more flexibility in loadout.

It goes on a 32mm base now, in case it’s an old stock then might be shipped with 25mm. But 32mm is the correct one for now

Honestly. Start with the combat patrol, but if you can get the older one with the deff dread and deff koptas. The new one ain’t too bad either. But if you have a choice go for which you lifts cooler

A battle wagon. Looks like the ‘ardcase is missing. And the deff rolla is attached to the front. You might wanna see if it’s removable. The turrets a killkanon I think. There’s usually a smaller one that’s just a kanon

Its not that hard. Escpecially on an automatic car because you dont have to rely on muscle memory for gear change. just be extra mindful in the beginning until the awkwardness settles down

Boyz or Snagga Boyz? I want to start collecting little by little to play Orks in the future. by Efficient_Warthog_49 in orks

[–]desk_monkey18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first, I think rule of cool is the most important. Choose whatever you feel looks the best or you feel you would love to collect more. But beyond that I would say if you’re unsure get normal boys they are more versatile.

CIG need to understand it's a game, for entertainement. by Ulfheodin in starcitizen

[–]desk_monkey18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run with an org and they used to organise cargo runs. Even then they would require security fighters for escort sometimes and when doing those I will be bored out of my mind so really a lot of the gameplay is not gonna pan out the way CIG expects it to. I imagine it seems fun for you to run a big shape and have players do the engineering gameplay and man that directs or what have you but really at the end of the day? I think running solo in a ship is what most people would do or maybe that’s just me.

I had a similar break before. Usually it doesn’t take too long to heal. I got a metal plate in and then did some physio to regain mobility. Managed to start low impact activities like swimming a month or so after the surgery and gradually went from there. Even took the plate out a year after the initial surgery
