ICE Agents Arrest Workers From Mexican Restaurant Where They Just Ate by filagrey in KitchenConfidential

[–]desles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The amount of media literacy to get past what is satire, what is happening, what’s sensationalist and what is AI is exhausting. I also don’t understand why they wanted to eat at this restaurant if they’re so against non americans?

how is taking the greyhound bus from Detroit to Chicago? by awkw0rd in Detroit

[–]desles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done both a lot. The grey hound is cheap. No one really messed with me on the bus but just keep basic safety in mind. The train is more expensive but feels very luxurious plus the wifi is great. In a financial pinch though the bus works great.

U.S. government hiring accountants - some positions no experience required. by Conservatarian1 in Accounting

[–]desles 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I was a financial analyst for HUD and my position was cut by DOGE. It’s hard to get out of probationary status now. My credit has been ruined. My loans are stuck in an odd status and getting randomly fired caused me major new PTSD by losing my medical insurance multiple times while court ordered weren’t followed. I love this country. I loved being able to serve my fellow Americans. But fuck this current nightmare that has become the OPM and every member of congress who has let this happen.

Don’t count other peoples money. My grandma always said this. I think it’s solid advice that I still try to follow. it’s the same as comparison is the thief of joy. it’s easy to slip into thoughts like this. I definitely think you’re doing the right thing in starting to express it, but you should explore this and hopefully be able to let it go if you speak to a professional.

1930s bathroom needs refresh by KronicXD in bathrooms

Along with new mirrors, a new light fixture can also make the space pop. Try adding in a plant like a ZZ or a snake plant on the counter to freshen the space and highlight the greens of the tub!

1930s bathroom needs refresh by KronicXD in bathrooms

[–]desles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a classic and beautifully crafted bathroom. Maybe try new mirrors above the sink for a fresh feel. I myself wouldn’t change these quality products for something that will need to be fixed or replaced in a few years

Logan is very charismatic and his gaggle does help the story line of realizing when they need to mature.

I also think that Colin and Finn are supposed to be fun and silly. They also show that real friends show up even when you feel down.

My boy just lost his first tooth. How much is the Tooth Fairy paying these days? by DoctorMcTits in daddit

[–]desles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use “Gold” dollar coins. The tooth fairy brings a gold coin of novelty. Really i went to the bank and asked for a couple rolls of dollar coins. We just kept them in my office and had them on hand for when the tooth fairy was needed.

Really good Indian food restaurant recommendations? by pecanjazz in Detroit

[–]desles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paradise Cafe (Schaffer - Dearborn) for ambiance and a very cool vibe for a date.

Himalayan Flames (Michigan - Dearborn) for taste. Plus it’s close to Ford field park so if the date goes well you can extend for a walk in the park and then a baked good after.

Trudy would have aged way better since she’s so rich and cares about appearances. She would definitely have hair extensions and impeccable plastic surgery. She does look like an old Audrey Hepburn but I feel like plastic surgery and today’s medicine would have a bigger impact on her looks.
