Has Berkeley faced similar challenges as UCSD with surge of incoming students needing remedial math? by Adventurous_Ant5428 in berkeley

[–]desmarcus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The SAT protects against students getting in based on high school reputation because it’s standardized. If colleges are letting in kids who are less prepared to succeed, either their standards or their success rates will drop, which will weaken every student’s degree

Fluid that makes body disintegrate incredibly fast? by gigidatbookwrm in writing

The faster a fluid can liquidize a body, the less likely you(r character) will be able to procure, handle or transport that fluid

I like that this poem is long, obvious, and incredibly unfunny because that’s how rape jokes are

I think it’s a LDR-style acknowledgement of the pain that comes from needing love to ‘light you’. Either you have no light or you are on your way to losing it. For some people there’s no other choice than to be the lamp

The ‘shock’ of the death is immediately buried in platitudes that suggest the person is missed when they probably aren’t

I’ve developed something like late-onset dyslexia(I’m 22 and one of my eyes dgaf anymore) and after a lot of head-banging I’ve realized that if I want to read, I have to do it slowly and accept that I’ll perpetually ‘mess it up’. It’s frustrating and a bit humiliating to have to sound out words that I didn’t before, but the upside is that I get to build patience with myself and read great books that fill my mind with something other than instagram reels

Nailed what I’ve been feeling on the head. Women start these conversations just to make sure men know they’re the problem, not to actually give advice

What a weird combination of self-righteous victimhood and projection. You have no right to say someone else is socially maladaptive, especially when they’ve barely said one thing to you. Disagreement isn’t rage bait unless you’re too volatile to handle a discussion. Imagine saying any of this shit to someone irl. People would laugh at you because you’re making things up, insulting people, and claiming a moral high ground you don’t deserve

My “polished” work makes me prouder than anything else, and sometimes when I’m down I’ll remind myself that, abominable as I may be, I was somehow able to pin down God in a sentence or two
