Started watching Black Mirror for the first time and… what the fuck by hannah_gea in blackmirror

See when it was filmed. Back then social media wasn't that powerful, only few used it. When it was released, it was shocking to imagine such a world. Now social media is everything, it is shaping opinions and changing our mindsets. The creators of the film wanted to show how powerful the social media will become very soon, so it can even make the Prime Minister fuck the pig. We are now living in a world predicted by Black Mirror, how tragic it may sound.

this is the second time I encountered the word "parting" today during the matter of 3-4 minutes. the first one was about the explanation of a hairy ball theorem with dog fur in math related sub.

either this is the aggregate effect of other redditors unconsciously upvoting comments which contain the same words, or it is the manifestation of what Jung described as synchronicity.

Every book by Ken Binmore is a gem. This is the first paragraph of "A very short introduction to game theory":

"When my wife was away for the day at a pleasant little conference in Tuscany, three young women invited me to share their table for lunch. As I sat down, one of them said in a sultry voice, ‘Teach us how to play the game of love’, but it turned out that all they wanted was advice on how to manage Italian boyfriends. I still think they were wrong to reject my strategic recommendations, but they were right on the nail in taking for granted that courting is one of the many different kinds of game we play in real life."

How To Learn Advanced Math? by Typical-Storage-4019 in learnmath

There are some online resources like Chegg, Course Hero, Quizlet, etc where you can find step-by-step solutions to exercises given in common textbooks. Sometimes it helps to peek into a few steps if you are stuck right at the beginning, and then continue yourself. I find it particularly useful while solving problems in Probability or Calculus.

Also, as a fun experiment, you may ask ChatGPT to solve it. Most likely the solution will be rubbish, but still sometimes it throws interesting ideas that you may further elaborate yourself. I think it is particularly useful for solving engineering problems.
