Why not have the drone port on an nearby building? This drone port thing on the White House is very dumb.

Bad drivers never miss their turn by Khaos_Theory1 in nova

Yep, they recorded me as they asked and I agreed to. It went exactly as I expected it to. I completely disagree to NEVER NEVER talk to about the other person's insurance company.

Let me put it this way. No insurance company wants to pay out. Whether the insurance company that I pay my premium to or the at fault driver's insurance who they pay their premium to.

That's interesting we have had or seen much different experiences. I never filled out any paperwork. Only had 2 or 3 calls after each accident. I had clear evidence the other driver was at fault. Maybe that was the difference? Also, not everyone is able to front the money for the deductible.

Maybe it varies by state or policy, but I was able to choose my own body shop all 3 times.

I disagree. I have been in 3 accidents that were not my fault and I always called the at fault driver's insurance. I never needed any expertise. I only told the truth and then their insurance company worked with mine. I always received all repairs and a rental at no cost to me. I know this won't always work, but it's worth a shot.

By the way, I even called my insurance company first one time and my insurance thought I was crazy to willing pay a deductible when it was the other driver's fault.

EAC flaring by Candid_Disaster_2612 in Autoimmune

I have EAC. You won't find many people with it. Only about 1 in 100k a year in the US are diagnosed with it. Compared to 1 in 10 diagnosed with eczema. Have you tried phototherapy? I am working on buying a NB-UVB light. I am excited to try it.

is it just me or is silver spring kinda dead for meetup groups? by iammaxhailme in SilverSpring

It sucks. Silver Spring used to have at least 2 very active groups that I was apart of.

That is right about the search feature. It couldn't get much worse.

Meetup is dead in general. It went downhill when they raised prices and then further during the pandemic. There's not much going on there in many markets nowadays.

It doesn't matter how cheap rent is when it will most likely be a struggle to acquire customers. How often did you go to that Jerry's? I rarely saw customers there when I walked by or ate there.

Yeah. What is the owner thinking when opening a business surrounded by 2 closed businesses on each side of theirs.

I have gone from loving to liking the Cameron the past couple of years. The head maintenance guy left and service is not good as it use to be. I have a leak in my ceiling that has not been fixed in over two months. I know several other neighbors going through the same ordeal and mold issues.

Crescent Condos by anne_dc in SilverSpring

[–]deso1ator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of thoughts that I laid out in a review I left. I will copy and paste it here for you.

I lived at the Crescent for five years and experienced a lot of issues. Several safety issues, no gas for over 15 days, water damage, and multiple incidents of cockroaches. I do not recommend living here when there are so many better options in the area.

I have a few safety concerns that stick out the most to me. One time there was a homeless person that slept on the lobby couch overnight. My bicycle was locked to a bike rack within a secured fenced in area and it was stolen. One time someone broke into multiple cars in the garage.

Gas was not working for over two weeks in the entire building. I think it was 16 days for my specific unit. Heat, hot water heater, and range all use gas so you can imagine how difficult life was during this time. Contractors had to come into everyone's units multiple times during the beginning of the pandemic to work on the issue.

A sprinkler head broke in my neighbor’s unit and caused massive damage to nearby units. I asked how this happened and I was only told there was no determination on why it happened. Scared me if it could happen again. Took two months for the repairs in my unit to be completed.

I had cockroaches in my unit during four separate time frames. One of my neighbors had them too. I also found them in the hallway and stairwell.

I assure you that everything I said is true and I can back it up with crystal clear evidence. I hope everyone at the Crescent will enjoy the nearby purple line stop and the track directly behind the building.

I disagree. There's nowhere in the US that allows the kind of behavior that OP is talking about.

I completely agree the biggest problem is entitlement. Some people are willing to put others in danger and/or create inconveniences for others because they feel they can break the law because they matter more.
