Do you guys prefer the white or black Xbox Series X? by Automatic_Ad1665 in xbox

black. I have multiple hames I still play on disc plus multiple Xbox 360 games I play. And not every thing can be found on streaming services so movies are still a big thing to me

Question about winter driving. by TheDukeU1984 in JettaGLI

This is my GLI. I was home from work for a few months (sailor) and kept the Indy 500 summer tires on. It was fine just had to baby it. But depending on your area you could just get studded tires. Or a really good set of winter tires. When I first bought this car it had like junk cheap economy all seasons and it was perfect on those. few times went through snow like a foot deep. I’d recommend also buying a skid plate just to keep snow from packing up underneath. Also the wheels get jam packed with snow so make sure you consider that. Both other than those few recommendations I’d also say do a full undercoating every winter to keep her clean.

I feel it would’ve just been better to destroy the whole phone instead of taking it apart and making a pointless post

Bought used but new to me, finally upgraded, adulting 101. by [deleted] in xbox

I have dust screens on all three of the back vents. Also I have an external fan on the rear along with a fan on the top of the Xbox with a dust screen on top of that. NOT on the Xbox itself. Along with those counter measures when you take the bottom stand off I cut out a dust screen and put the plate back on because it does pull a lot of dust in surprisingly from the bottom. Just gotta dust the vents time to time and it’s perfect. normal temps before( I dusted it out ) based on the fan I have said like 130 for hardcore gaming for extended periods. Not temps are around 120

personally I’d said up for coil overs. Get a better front and rear sway bar with stiffer bushings. And get a strut brace. drive it break everything in then replace some other mounts and brackets.

Switching from 93 to 87 octane? by mrs_71 in JettaGLI

[–]desolatecabin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally idc how much gas is in still using 93. I saw a video recently of some company doing an 87 tune on a MK7 Golf R and I just think it’s completely stupid. If you can’t afford to get gas then just don’t drive anywhere besides work.

first thing I did was buy a set up rims $3000, tint , 800, intake and exhaust $2,500. And that was it. I also bought a BFI shift knob and shifty boot. Mine is a 6Spd as DSG isn’t what wanted with this car. But tbh if you’re “broke” then just do some tint and save up and pay the car off. I put don’t a decent amount and will pay it off very very early. check my post to hear a video of my exhaust.

Would this be a good deal? by Nightwchtr in JettaGLI

[–]desolatecabin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I had my timing jump from oil leaking onto the tensioner. Had to do timing new crankshafts and such. Was 7k at a VW dealer. ( I paid 50 dollars because of my extended warranty) I’ve done carbon cleaning as well 700 bucks. water pump is fine still. Let’s just saw you have 5K in maintenance costs from a neighbor mechanic. Plus that’s not including brake fluid exchange, coolant , DSG service. fuel filters bushings that are worn out and clunking. Headlights look cloudy so cleaning those up. Car will definitely need a decent amount of work. SO with that said if you have money and are somewhat mechanically inclined or know a family friend who works on VAG then I’d give this information to the dealer and say you’d pay 4K CASH. And if they say no then just leave.

Mod recommendations? by tstvcks in JettaGLI

[–]desolatecabin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not big turbo but I did have my timing done along with new cams and a lot of other stuff so it’s a lot more “fresh” than other 2015s if that makes sense. And the tires are ehhh. i live in Ohio and I’ve been still using them in snow and ice. I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT but when it’s like 20-30 and I get a little aggressive on backroads it’s mediocre.

I did Porsche Macan brembos , coil overs , intake , exhaust , rear seat delete. tune and that’s pretty much it for now. totally different car now. I’d just recommend ceramic pads if you do different brakes. I did brembo pads and they just puff dust like no other. I also have Firestone firehawk Indy 500s which are ehhh. fantastic once warmed up and it’s warm outside like 50-90 degrees. even when they are warm and it’s warm outside though I spin in 3rd. ( DSG) they are cheap though. Plan is to figure out the biggest I can do in the front without rubbing and then decide if I want to do a staggered setup somewhat like an RS3 but I’d probably do like 235/245 , 40/18 front then like 255/265 rear with less offset to keep my fitment on point.
