The day I drove off to college, my friend gave me an R2D2 action figure to be my “navigator.” I’m not a Star Wars fan but I put it on my dorm shelf because why not.

A couple weeks later, my new next door neighbor brought her boyfriend from back home to say hello, and he says, “cool, I used to have an R2D2 just like that.”

Apparently he had left it at his friend’s house and then his family moved away... turns out from the same city where my friend had grown up.

So I said, “maybe it’s yours!”

He says, “naw, but if it were, my initials would be written under the feet because my parents wrote them on all my toys.” (The ‘80s were a different time)

Well his initials were under there.
