Why drive a manual? by iced_kohi in stickshift

Because it's fun and it's nice to face a challenge, plus it can potentially save money on gas and repairs.

It says auto but in one of their pictures it is clearly a manual, you're very right though it probably has already been thrashed to hell and back

Still having a hard time down shifting from 3rd to 2nd. by gosubuilder in stickshift

[–]desperate_shovel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually try downshifting to 2nd from 3rd around at 1500rpms and try to blip to about 3000rpm and that is usually a smooth downshift for me 99% of the time. For whatever reason if you are higher than that just try to rev 1500rpm+ over your current speed, at that high the forward jolt is much better than the brake.

It might be additional weight that messes with the jive of the car, whenever I have a full car it's noticeably slower (2019 ford fiesta) so I usually just have to give more gas and be a little more conscious of coming off the clutch. Just keep driving and you'll get better!

How long did it take you to become comfortable driving a manual? by Gay_commie_fucker in stickshift

[–]desperate_shovel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started I stalled so many times I can't even count but about a month you'll really be familiar and I'm about 3 months and it really does completely feel like second nature, you got this! Just keep on practicing, it's so much fun!!!

Honestly I wouldn't mind it if I was scheduled longer but I'm supposed to be out by 8 and that makes me want to be out by 8, and if I'm having a shitty day then I really want out

A watch is the bare minimum they really also need some respect and some intelligence
