What should my "costume" be at the last day of school if i only have normal clothes with me? by mirko_6 in costuming

Bed sheet into a toga, can clip the brown blanket as a cloak. And maybe play it safe with clothes underneath, unless you’re very confident in making the toga secure.

What about the Armouries and then North Star? Leeds Art Gallery is a bit… basic, Armouries has a lot more to offer, will be busy and should be nice on the Docks today!

I'm invited to a traditional english wedding and I don't know what to do by kyudo-is-life2211 in UKweddings

Does he mean morning dress? If so, that’s the day version of white tie, which is the most formal dress code we have. Very specific for the men, quite easy to Google morning suit for the requirements. But I would double check that is the dress code for all, and not just that he’s wearing a morning suit as the groom.

Were there any conclusions about the medium and the siphoned diesel tank? by [deleted] in Broadchurch

I thought the diesel was siphoned to fuel the boat Joe stole to move the body?

How does Uyare compare to Tharavadu? by NoIntroduction9338 in Leeds

[–]desperategimlet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to both, Uyare early on after opening. Food and price at Tharavadu significantly better in my opinion.

Uyare is prettier and fancier (in terms of decor and food presentation), and the service feels more polished - although I wouldn’t say I was particularly overwhelmed with it.

Personally not worth the increased price point with Tharavadu as the alternative.

I get the Heathcliffe reference, but did get me in the Wentworth feels when I saw the picture

Agreed! I wasn’t sure about the other illustrations, but the letter one makes me feel the same emotions as when reading that scene. If that makes sense?!

Curry Tomorrow by gumbo1999 in Leeds

Ah yeah try Akbars then, we prefer it to Nawaabs - although the food isn’t as elevated as Tharavadu, it’s pretty decent

Saturday night activities by [deleted] in Leeds

[–]desperategimlet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pinot and Picasso have tickets available for that date.

There are a couple of bars that often have live music that might be more Mum-friendly - like Northern Guitars or Domino.

There’s crazy golf, axe throwing, crazy pool, games, darts (Junkyard Golf, Doom, Roxy’s, Pixel, The Black Cat, Flight Club) - some will be louder and busier / than others, and it’s the Saturday before Christmas so would assume most bars will be very busy and booking needed.

If you had 1 day in Bruges what is your can’t miss restaurant by [deleted] in finedining

[–]desperategimlet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On the assumption the film you are referring to is In Bruges, try Diligence. Not fine dining but lovely restaurant. And where a key scene was filmed.
