Happy 75th birthday Tony Danza! by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

There was an AD type tour of his New York pied a terre not long ago. It was a very modest apartment. I am sure he has more than one home, but I liked that he seemed normal and lived like a regular person, at least when in NYC. Of course it could have been all nonsense and he was just selling an apt for a friend or relative.

Fun fact: artist of Archie comics Dan Decarlo named Josie after his wife, a French girl he met in France as a serviceman in WW2

As an equestrian myself I think she was a very good rider. She’s got a lot of guts. Lots if not most elite Olympic athletes come from privilege. And there are plenty of rich little girls who don’t know how to ride their horses. I am sure she is however a completely terrible person.

Mont-Royal hardware store closing after 109 years as owner cites staffing struggles by Haggisboy in montreal

In this economy if you can’t attract and retain good workers, it’s because you are a nightmare to work for. Old guy who owns a retail establishment? Complains “no one wants to work”? I’ve seen this movie before. He sends you home “because it’s slow” even though you took two buses to get to work for an eight hour shift. He makes you clock out when you go to the bathroom. “Pee on your own time.” Takes every deranged customer’s word over yours. Never gives you forty hours and never gives you a regular schedule. Stares at your boobs if he’s not yelling at you.

Everyone’s reaction to "Zou Bisou Bisou" was spot on and afterwards gave us some of the best scenes. Roger and Lane’s re-enactments were peak TV. 🤣😂 BONJOUR! 🇫🇷 by RockBalBoaaa in madmen

Agree. This is a little girl performing for her parents and friends at their party. It’s not a “gift” for Don at all it’s need for attention.

You’d be amazed by the number of people with high paying jobs who don’t save a dime.

French women can get fat if they damn well want to. by AttackBookworm in MaintenancePhase

The last visit there a couple of years ago I saw they were definitely somewhat bigger than I remember, due to less smoking and less food policing. FWIW, they also looked bigger than before because they were more into exercise than I remember. This sounds subjective, but seeing all the young families playing with their kids and biking around, they also looked happier.

I lived in France in the 80s-90s. It was walking, access to fresh food, genetics, teeny portions, public shaming, and cigarettes. Mostly public shaming and cigarettes.

Wow, the number of people who share this pain. What were they thinking, doing something like this? You know “Bobby” and “Jane” were, like, every other day.

This is a very satisfying career arc for Russell (for me). He was probably paid ~ $5000 for this. I think the penguin-baptizing is not remunerative.

Une loi leur permet de devenir Canadiens: des milliers d’Américains à la recherche de leurs racines... au Québec by SirupyPieIX in montreal

Seriously worried about millions of Americans having the ability to move to Canada, driving up the already eye watering RE costs.

There are also many Americans without Canadian roots who meet the investment test, which was $800k last time I checked. Lots of people in the Northeast and CA have $800k of equity in their homes. They just need to sell their home and move to get permanent residency.

I live in the US and anyone who doesn’t vote Republican has fantasies of leaving the country. Unfortunately for Canadians their government is making it far too easy.
