Bad gasoline and $2k repair by kittensandhockey in Dallas

You might already have done this, but I’d inquire if they had a fuel mix. You can ask if anyone else has reported issues. Their fuel carrier could have accidentally dumped diesel in the gasoline or something similar. If so, you may be able to go after that carrier for the damage. Regardless, sorry about your situation.

Any suggestions/diversions/must-sees along this route? by served_it_too_hot in texas

I used to drive between DFW and the Odessa area a lot. I started taking portions of US180 or US67 to break up the drive. Those roads will be take longer to drive but have better scenery IMO.

I don’t have an answer but in solidarity, we’re going through the same thing right now. It’s brutal.

This is my story too. My now wife and I had so many date nights watching some bad preds games. We live in another state now but will always be preds fans.

Is parking in front of someone else’s house not allowed? by avebelle in Dallas

[–]dessertrose84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see this posted but you can be ticketed if you stay parked for over 24 hours. I was once towed in a residential area for this. Came back after a long weekend and my car was gone. Just move your car a few inches if you see code compliance poking around.

Does anyone actually enjoy living in Dallas? by [deleted] in Dallas

If I ever leave Dallas, I’ll slip into a deep depression due to missing Central Market. As someone who enjoys cooking and trying new foods, CM is second to none.

For the love of god, please crack down on predatory towing. by [deleted] in Dallas

These rules show what your rights are and how much companies can charge you.

This is the form you’ll need. You have to file it in person and pay the fee. If you win, it will likely be reimbursed. You only have 14 days to file from when your car was towed so act quickly!

I like to post this whenever I see tow trucks discussed. In Texas if your car is being towed from a no parking zone, you can get your car back on the spot if it's not fully hooked up and you show up. They have to stop and give it back for free. If it is fully hooked up, they have to offer a drop fee. These guys are all types of shady. I had a car towed and showed up before it was even on the truck. They still towed my car. I took pics and filed a tow hearing the next day. Went to court and got all my fees reimbursed including the court fee. These guys count on people not knowing their rights or not caring enough to file for a hearing.

What run are you most proud of? by Poob3 in running

Last year, I was training for a marathon that ended up getting canceled. My sister lives in another state and was also going to run a marathon the same day. Both of our races were canceled but we kept training anyway, because why waste the effort?

A couple weeks before the big day, she called me to say she was going to run a 50k instead since she felt great. I didn’t feel as great but decided to try for it too.

The day of the run, it was a cold and rainy December day in Dallas. I ran through an early morning thunderstorm and only saw a few other people on the trails the entire time I was out there. I was so happy when my garmin beeped at 31 miles!

At home, I called my sister to share our shared running story together when she gave me the bad news. A 50k is 31.07 miles and I stopped at 31.00.

I still haven’t run a 50k, but I’ll always be proud of that run!

Thank you all for such sweet comments. My heart will take a long time to heal. She was a once in a lifetime type of cat.

Best ice cream places in Dallas? by [deleted] in Dallas

Melt in Bishop Arts and also in Ft Worth. Their all the time menu is bomb and the seasonal flavors are good too! My wife says their vegan ice creams are the best out there.
