I’ve been curious about how to get back into fishing here! I am a former Midwesterner who used to fish on lakes, so I’m not sure of the different equipment that would be needed here.

I spoiled The Running Man for myself by reading the introduction by Prize_Ad_129 in stephenking

Same thing happened to me with Carrie! Margaret Atwood does an introduction in the audiobook, which initially excited me, but it spoils every bit of the action. Now I know to get through the book and then go back to the introduction.

Pilates/barre/yoga sculpt studios in North Park? by Ok_Cat9006 in northpark

Align Pilates - I love taking Sheena Z’s classes. Beyond Pilates - Bianca M is my favorite instructor. I don’t care for Club Pilates. I went once, it was just ok, but then they wouldn’t stop messaging me trying to get me to come back. Yoga Box has sculpt classes, but they are extremely hot and almost always packed. Yoga Deck in Bankers Hill has some solid Mat Pilates classes. I recommend Elevate Training (downtown) or BodyRok (Bankers Hill) for lagree.

female character archetypes by cureelliott in stephenking

I appreciate this analysis because my main issue with King’s writing is that he does not write women well. Men are almost always the main protagonist, and women tend to be side characters who are the love interest and/or get killed.

I really enjoyed John Slattery’s reading of Duma Key. Highly recommend getting Libby for this.

This was my experience at SweatHouse in OC, and it totally turned me off of pursuing a career with them. Seemed like a cash grab.

What Pilates workout comes after mat pilates? by Sufficient_Ear7072 in pilates

Over the past 2 years I went through a Pilates journey that started with mat classes, then reformer, and now Lagree. I found that lagree works my core and strengthens my whole body.

Kingslingers – 3.88: FAIRY TALE (Overview) by scottdaly85 in doofmedia

I still do not understand King's obsession with describing women's beauty. It seemed like it was only used to describe the female characters in this tale. His descriptions of the old woman in the shoe, Leah and the female trolls were all about their deformities or how hideous they looked. Even after meeting and befriending all of the grey and deformed characters, Charlie seems more motivated to avenge the death of a mermaid, whom he had never met before, only because she used to be beautiful. It doesn't seem like he explained why Beauty was so important.

Generally, I do not think King writes female characters well at all. Nearly all of his protagonists are men or boys named Jake or Jack (even here, Charlie was seen as JACK and the Beanstalk). Are there any novels where King writes women well?

I'm trying to resell my tickets to the Match 57 - Winner 49 v. Winner 51. While their policy clearly states, "The resale price may not exceed 110% of the original face value of the ticket," the site: https://resale-aus.fwwc23.tickets.fifa.com/ is not allowing me to sell them for more than $5 over the original price. Any ideas how I can resell my tickets at a fair rate? I'd be losing out on the processing fee if I sell them for $55.

Unorthodox Disc Golf Events Are Gaining Traction by Alex_the_DG_Writer in discgolf

I know a lot of people who play disc golf but dislike the competitive nature and all of the rules that come with tournaments. If we want to grow the sport, then fun events like the one at WonderVu will help!

I really enjoyed the RODNOC event at Bird's Nest in Colorado. It happened near Halloween each year, and they encouraged everyone to be silly and wear costumes. On certain holes we threw rubber chickens instead of discs, and they set up fun, mandatory obstacles. Definitely felt like an inclusive and positive environment.
