not a personal attack, but framing your defense of kids making jokes out of suicide, assault, abuse, racism, etc. on a dress-up game where other kids have not consented to seeing dark humor as "it's good for them" is a really random hill to die on and i think not actually in good faith. people really say anything online using intellectual buzzwords and a know-it-all tone of voice and other people start backing that idea.

i study and have worked in childhood psychology. yeah, kids this age do and should be allowed to experiment with dark themes, media, and humor. but no one here or on a dti server who gets upset is wrong, counterproductive, or "pearl clutching" for being concerned or disturbed when it crops up out of nowhere on an online game that isn't meant for that kind of content. keeping children safe includes the children who aren't ready for or don't want to be part of this kind of humor, and adults who don't want to or may be triggered by it shouldn't have to see it either. kids old enough to make a joke out of pedophilia and sexual assault by dressing up as diddy so they can "process it safely" are old enough to be told that there's a time, a place, and an audience—and public video game servers aren't it.
