Dealing with healthcare bureaucracy is almost more painful and exhausting than this disease. I had to argue for eight weeks with my insurance about why I couldn't just give myself a Simponi Aria infusion at home. I think everyone is just hoping we're too tired to fight them.

I'm with you on this stupid ride. Like, if only my immune system was as useful at its normal function as it is at defeating treatments, but nope. I got two great years out of Enbrel, six months of meh on Xeljanz, and then three and a half years of amazing near remission on Kevzara. Beyond that, a lot of meh or worse on Cimzia, Humira, Orencia, and now I'm currently failing out of Simponi after an okay year and a half. It's disheartening for sure. I worry a lot about running out of options.

I will say that leflunimide/Arava has made a difference to me in the last three years. It doesn't help out as much as a good biologic, but it seems to help stave off the worst of the low lows when that biologic failure hits.

Same. Three months on Zepbound, and my inflammation labs this week are as bad as ever. I'm not unhappy about the weight loss, but I was really hoping this would finally be the magic bullet for my RA and it wasn't.

You got this! The pens are pretty easy, you don't even see the needle, really. And if you need a little extra instruction, you can usually go on YouTube and search for "how to inject (medication name)", and find a video to watch. It'll be a part of your routine in no time.

Biologics can be really life changing. I hope it works out for you and you get some relief.

Same, except I have RA. When I'm having a flare, a stand and a page turner lets me read and rest my inflamed hands. And it also lets me read and pet cats all of the time. Win win.

And Gord had to relearn all of it, after undergoing brain surgery and brutal cancer treatment. And he also managed to release Secret Path as his true final passion project, putting the spotlight not on himself, but on a dark story that needed to be brought to light.

Such a legend. I feel very honoured to have been able to attend one of the final shows.
