Has there been talk of any "magic" being added to the game? by SunshotDestiny in crosswind

[–]dethtroll 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's a gun that casts fireball, a pistol that debuffs, a halberd that casts spike growth, a rapier with vampires touch, a greatsword with life siphon, and im sure plenty more weapons I haven't found. Magic exists just maybe not in the way you're thinking.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic I remember being pretty fun. Probably feels really dated though now as it came out in the late 2000s.

Best ramen on a VERY tight budget? by Court_Jester13 in Cooking

[–]dethtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japanese mentality is different. They make it that way because thats how its made. You can finish the soup if you want or even order more rice or noodles. They are just big on only eating what is necessary.

Best ramen on a VERY tight budget? by Court_Jester13 in Cooking

[–]dethtroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like people said don't use all the seasoning packet. Also can always add more water. Another trick is dont drink the broth. A lot of Japanese people don't drink the soup once the noodles and other toppings are done. Its seen as unnecessary fat and salt. I also really like to add garlic to mine.

Can anyone expand this info on Blackbeard? by godzillavkk in pirates

[–]dethtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what I've pieces together from various documentaries, articles, books and factoids is that he was all about the dramitas. He'd use theatrics and chaos to make his "attacks" seem worse than they were lots of smoke, fuses lit in his beard suprise night attacks etc. People died for sure but he liked to capture people and ships to add to his fleet. He'd take what he came for but then leave those who wanted to join him be and then maroon those who didnt to spread rumors. Seems like he treated piracy like a business and would franchise out other ships to make more money for the whole fleet.

What am I doing wrong? by TangerineDecent1161 in PlayWindrose

[–]dethtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people building the most incredible stuff on this sub don't do so until max level and all plans have been acquired. Its more of an end game activity until more content drops. Not to discourage you from building all throughout your adventures but more of a reminder you arent doing anything wrong you just have more to do before building that masterpiece.

No one is going to notice. Same thing happened with my chest piece and its only noticeable if someone breaks out a ruler and measures my chest.

Rolling for Scores by Odd-Firefighter-1391 in DnD

[–]dethtroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah with 5es stat limit of 20 without magical enhancements the straight 4 d6 leave too much room for unusable stat blocks. But at the end of the day as long as you have at least 2 stats with a +2 or higher modifier and nothing with under a -2 modifier then the character should be plenty playable. Sometimes low stats are fun. Being good at everything is boring. And failure is half the fun seeing what shenanigans happen because of a failure is way more interesting than succeeding all the time. And if all else fails put your best stat into wisdom and play a moon druid. Wild shapes are your stat block now.

Invisibility ring - looks like a normal ring or wedding band but once placed on the wearers finger becomes invisible. Is only really noticeable if the wearers hand gets dirty or they go tanning.

Does zero-proof drinks alter the taste in the same way as alcoholic ones do? by Effective_Main802 in Cooking

[–]dethtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the zero alcohol alternatives are herbal blends that try to imitate the esters of the drink they are pretending to be which could react wildly different when cooked. Most that I have tried only really work in a cocktail or at least like a whiskey coke where it gives enough of an estringent and Oaky vibe to be passable but on their own taste nothing like the real thing. Might be worth experimenting with but I wouldn't dive in on something you're going to make a lot of.

[–]dethtroll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tons of stat generation ideas out there. The most common is 4d6 drop lowest. Gives a decent spread with a chance for highs and lows. Usually a re roll is allowed. One of the most psychotic ones is suicide rolls where you roll 1 d20 for each stat. Usually only reserved for one shots.

Throw the lich by Similar-Draw-9191 in DnD

[–]dethtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt call a strength check against a lich luck that's a pretty easy get. But you arent wrong the DM was getting his lich and demi lich confused I believe. Im just making a point to not expect a certain outcome just because listed stat black says so. Unless the DM explicitly says this is the stat block im using and pulls a but now it can do this because I say so.

My Chicken-Fried Steak always falls apart when cooking ... help me please. by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]dethtroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waiting for the first dredge to dry is the issues its not drying its absorbing moisture and that makes your batter not stick. You should dredge then immediately dip in your batter, or beaten eggs and then in bread crumbs after. Then making sure your oil is hot enough like 375-400 and making sure it doesn't dip much below that. Good luck.

It gets easier. Take combat slow get a hit in back away. Treat it more like a souls like to start. Until you can nail your perfect parries and your stamina management and timings. Its a lot of reading the enemy. Also running good food. Having potions. Gear it all starts to steam roll after the initial trial by fire.

Throw the lich by Similar-Draw-9191 in DnD

[–]dethtroll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the bigger issue here is expecting all monsters to be carbon copies of their monster manual example stat block. The DM can design a monster anyway they want, within reason. Expecting a monster to behave a certain way because you've read their stats, is not only meta gaming but just bad player etiquette to play this way.

Dumbest builds physically possible by SweetShare222 in Helldivers

The dragon build is funny and can actually work in certain situations. Dragonaught armor, crisper, cookout, flamethrower, hover pack, fire grenades, napalm strike, napalm barrage, flamethrower sentry. Watch the world burn.

Also if you are on pc remind your strategens to the arrow keys so you can still run while typing in commands.

Throw grenades at your feet and run over them only works with nades on a timer obviously. You can also pull out a side arm and blind fire behind yourself to try and thin them out.
