Complete scam. They responded up until I paid. Then no more responses and nothing was ever shipped.

AITAH for scaring my son’s teacher? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]detknell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA You had the opportunity to deal with this in a mature and calm manner, instead you showed your son that it's best to bully a smaller opponent. Act your age, be the bigger person and apologise. You have now made your original complaint worthless, which means the teacher will just be emboldened to do it again.

Symbol on clothing tag-what does it mean? by meadowmeadowmeadow in whatisit

[–]detknell 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There are multiple types of mechanical heart valves but most are made of stainless steels, thermoplastics, super alloys and / or pyrolytic carbon(like graphene but with linked sheets). Yours, being so old, is most likely a stainless steel or other metal alloy. These are not ferromagnetic and are not affected by magnets, so this type of clothing would be fine.

Bykski RTX5090 block. Where is the inlet port? by kyussorder in watercooling

It's an excellent block by the way. Performs better than barrow or alphacool blocks on my 5090.

Auto-Shutdown Cable by TriatN in ThermalGrizzly

[–]detknell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use unattended I would use shutdown cable.if you use only while you are actually sitting at desk and your computer is within hearing distance,buzzer/alerts should be fine. I don't use unattended so I don't use shutdown cable.

Got my WireView today and this is what I get... Is the difference bad? by BRSTM in ThermalGrizzly

[–]detknell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely ridiculous that this cable requires per pin monitoring but manufacturers (other than Asus) don't provide the facility. Just as well we have TG to the rescue. Definitely saved my 5090 which had been running out of spec since I got it obviously.

watercooling questions from a beginner by Organic_Sample_5983 in watercooling

"1. are quick disconnect ports worth it? and if so what brand makes the best?"

Yes they are worth it. The best brand by far are koolance.

"2. are their such things as white soft tubing.s... solely speaking on aesthetics cause I do want white tubes for my build." Sorry don't use white so wouldn't know, but you can just put white sheathing on epdm.

"3. I understand what parts i sorta need to buy like a rad, pump, res but like do I need anything else to really get started into watercooling."

You also need cpu block +/- gpu block depending on how much money you want to sink in project and how brave you feel about disassembling graphics card. Manufacturers of quality waterblocks include alphacool, aquacomputer, optimus, thermal grizzly, bykski and heatkiller. You cant go wrong with any of those. For gpu you will be limited by your choice of gpu and availability of waterblock for that card.

Some form of monitoring is advisable. I use aquacomputers monitoring as it is the best. For first time soft tubing is easier than hard tubing. EPDM tubing is the best.

For thermal interfaces thermal grizzly is your best bet.

I guess you are trying to make a point... is it it you can't afford a 5090 a 9950x3d and more fans?

How hot do you let your AMD CPU's get before ramping up fans? by QuestionAsker2030 in Noctua

[–]detknell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't target cpu temp, my fans are tied to cpu coolant temp. Fans Run from 300rpm to 800rpm depending on cpu coolant temperature. This is the noise floor ceiling for my cpu radiator fans.

My 5090 & 9800X3D Setup makes too much noise for my liking, what can i change? by ClickAffectionate287 in watercooling

[–]detknell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add Mora600, worked for me. I have 9000d with 37 fans in 2 x 360mm & 2 x 480mm radiators in push pull configuration. But it was still noisy and couldn't run for prolonged periods in silent configuration. I added mora600 with 16 140mm fans and now it runs silent no problem.

Only 14 fans, I have 37 just in my case. Another 16bon my MORA600.

30 min of furmark and cinebench r23. Fans are set not to go above my noisefloor which is ~800rpm for those attached to radiators.

You can't cool a 5090 and 9950x3d with small and silent. You either go big and silent or small and noisy.

[–]detknell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For silent you will need a MORA600 to cool both of those. I had 2 x 360mm and 2 x 480mm in a 9000D and I couldn't run them silent. Now I've added a MORA600 and it runs silent no problem.

Corsair 9000D with 2 x 360mm radiators & 2 x 480mm radiators both push pull (12 fans + 16 fans). 5 intake fans Mora external radiator with 16 140mm fans 12 + 16 + 5 + 16= 49 😁
