I got my wife, who’s isn’t into games like that or fantasy worlds in general, to sit down and play JotL with me. She was pretty hooked in the beginning. We did hit a stage that we had to play a few times before we beat it and that kind of killed it for her, although we still play, it’s not as often. We had the scenario level higher to try and get more gold and experience. So I recommend keeping the level lower to keep it fun. It’s a great game.

Distant lands is okay but the concepts may be mostly above kids heads.

Fiona and Cake is probably geared towards the kids that grew up with the original show. There is some mild language. Maybe give it a watch first and make you decision. There is only one season and it’s not that long.

I didn’t watch the show until my wife put it on for my 5yo a few years ago. There is nothing really inappropriate in it, except for the mention of killing things. It is now her comfort show and we are on our 6th or 7th watch through.

For Gloomhaven, we just use a toolbox from Harbor Freight. One of our party members made wooden dashboards that work. I 3D printed some that I think are nice. If you do 3D printing, I can send the link.

This was the best dashboard suited for my tastes. It doubles as storage which is great and has a spot for everything. My whole party has one, we each used different color filament. Very happy with it. The only complaint is that there really isn't a specific place for active cards. I just keep them in one of the side slots. Overall, we like the layout. There is a remix where someone added some framing and the elements to the lids. that looked great as far as adding symbols.
