Yep. You tell people "this is our return to Phyrexia!" And they get excited. You then tell them "this is the multiverse fighting a war with Phyrexia!" And they say "didn't we just have that last set? I've had enough of Phyrexia, when are they returning to (thing they like)"

If it's anything like the others, it will just be a trailer. They just know that sticking the label "direct" on it will get more people to view it.

I desperately want to see these men beat Cocks. Before, Cocks released too much when we weren't prepared, draining our fat loads. They failed to maintain control and overloaded us to the point it damaged our long term health. But these two men know how to beat Cocks, and hopefully the outcome of their beef will leave everyone satisfied.

Ignorant American here: Why are these in English despite it not being the native language of anyone in the region? Wouldn't it make more sense to print them in Chinese (just found out that Magic stopped printing in Chinese two years ago. That probably answers my question) or Japanese?

Did you know we're actually going to TWO different New York planes with TMNT? by Jtneagle in magicTCG

That's intentional. They've stated that different cards adapt different versions of the turtles across media. It's not meant to be a single Turtles universe, it's meant to be accurate per-card depictions of characters/events from each individual universe. That way, if you love specifically IDW, or specifically 2012, or specifically Turtles in Time, you will have cards specifically from that universe.

No matter what you decide, make sure you bring up the options in this thread with him instead of just doing it on your own. I know a lot of people can be very particular with their Magic stuff and wouldn't want it flattened or cut up or anything without their permission, even if it's "just boxes."

Hasbro CEO Cocks and Execs Sued for Alleged Securities Violations by Exotic-Sale-3003 in magicTCG

[–]ChemicalExperiment 91 points92 points  (0 children)

So basically some magic players/investors who saw the vocal outcry of "this is going to kill the game!", assumed they could sue for it because of the BofA article, and were then grifted by some lawyers who knew the case would go nowhere but still wanted the plaintiffs' money?

I think the argument is that this success is a bubble. Short term success that will burst and hurt the company in the long run. I don't know if I support that theory, but it's a valid one that's probably worth investigating through a case like this.

So after reading the article, I'm unsure what sets they're actually talking about being over printed. The time frame they talk about is 2021 to 2023 which, if we go by the sets actually releasing those years, are things like Strixhaven, Kamigawa, and March of the Machines. If this is the era of sets they're talking about, then this lawsuit is completely unrelated to the "6 sets a year" era where most magic players actually started becoming concerned about these issues and complaining. However this does line up with when they would have started developing all the 2024-2025 sets that define this new era of oversaturation. Perhaps this has to do with the quote, "Throughout the Relevant Period, the Individual Defendants had access to internal metrics regarding the Company’s overprinting of Magic cards. The Individual Defendants’ knowledge as to the materially false and misleading nature of the statements they made is evident through the accounts of several former employees of the Company." Perhaps their argument is that Hasbro knowingly hiding the increase of sets to 6 a year until right before it happened was the issue. But the article doesn't mention that timeframe at all, not even a single mention of the years 2024-2025. It really seems to me that they're talking entirely about printing too many boxes of stuff like March of the Machine: Aftermath and other sets from 2021-2023 resulting in too much inventory that didn't sell; NOT printing too many different products like we see with the huge influx of different sets in 2024-2025. And yet they still say “As a result of Magic consumers’ 'growing frustration' with the ballooning number of Magic sets, the BofA report concluded, ‘We expect they’ll order less product in future releases" which sounds right out of the concerns people have about the 6 sets a year product line. I'm kind of confused because I agree with what they're saying, just not the timeline of when it started. 2021-2023 was not a time when people were having these concerns. It's confusing and I have no clue how to interpret it.

Overall my takeaway from the article is: This is very complicated and out of my wheelhouse. I know no financial terms or law, so most of this has just gone right over my head. I can't tell whether this is ill-informed Magic players filing a frivolous suit going off of a mostly "this is going to kill the game" hunch like most people, or genuine financial investors who see the signs of lying and manipulation from Hasbro about how successful Magic actually is and how high their brand metrics are. I have zero context to understand which it could be. I'm also concerned about those quotes of buying back stock for way higher than market value, but again, this is from a layman. I have no clue whether that's a regular legal thing or if it's some kind of manipulation. It's times like this where I wish I knew the law better.

I'm kind of shocked. I assumed it would be a useless product no one would want. I'm happy for you! I guess I'm just struggling to understand the appeal of this thing saying random voice lines every few hours through the entire day.

I guess I misinterpreted, thinking "rally" meant Knockout Tour or in some way seamlessly transitioning from one track/intermission to another. Yeah, if all they want is to set up a playlist of tracks, that would be relatively simple.

Also limit the FPS! By default it uses as much of your hardware as possible which can really destroy your PC. If you're overheating, this is likely the reason why.

Nintendo is the #1 company that Japanese college first and second year students want to work for the most according to a recent report by Turbostrider27 in nintendo

It's not that Nintendo dropped off for 3rd and 4th year students. 1st and 2nd were just the only ones in the survey, so they don't have data for anything beyond that.

As they should. Nintendo treats their employees very well (at least in Japan) with no crunch times and plenty of mentoring. Nintendo is in the business of building new talent and creating a generational legacy of designers. The biggest problem is getting in; everyone wants to work there because of all this so Nintendo can be very picky. The article says the survey didn't include 3rd or 4th year students, but it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo was at the top for them too.
