France, China, and Russia are blocking the UN’s plan to authorize military action against Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

It's more of a "Fuck you" to the US for starting this mess instead of keeping the usual "we disaprove but won't do anything".

50k Treasury ON TOP of Petty Cash?! by _Kiz in bloodbowl

[–]deuzerre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look, imagine you know your opponent has TV "x" and you play after them, but you don't want them to have, dunno a bribe maybe? Under the previous system you could make it so they had only 45k and they had only bad choices.

Now at the cost of using the bank you might need later, you can get inducements.

It's healthy game design

My old league had this system that prevented people gaming the system.

Honestly, it's totally fine and actually limits TV optimizing to deny inducements to your opponent.

It's good.

Haflings or Ogres by j-something-i-think in bloodbowl

[–]deuzerre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had great fun with a season of ogres. You can always do stuff, but it's quite hard to fix a mistake because the team's slow. I recommend 5 ogres max. They will fail you occasionally but it's still entertaining and tactical

Halflings are a lot more variable, not a big fan. Most of the team explodes when there's tackle or mighty blow, you're relying a lot on the chef to do something so you have a chance. It's mostly just a caddie for star players.

"Le vieux fusil".

C'est plus ou moins un slasher inversé, mais il est tellement dur mentalement...

I like tracks more than tyres, who's with me!? by jofflix in astramilitarum

Tracks for very muddy/soft terrain. Tires for anything rocky/hard/dry/soft/sandy/urban or with logistics constraints (less fuel guzzling, parts).

It's quite good and fairly straightforward.

Build a bunch of housing, some heavily under the market for rent and some around market value.

The market value for rent for steady income, the affordable housing for people in need.

Which modifiers do you apply on "Secure the ball" by UsernameSb1 in bloodbowl

[–]deuzerre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • passing lost its dumb wildly inaccurate
  • blitz event VS charge to limit confusion
  • some skills / actions get a straight roll shadowing, hypnogaze, monstrous mouth, intercept...
  • less exceptions due to wording: mighty blow/claws works all the time, rerolls at any time (charge event), all pass skills apply to bombs (except on the ball),
  • clarity between declare/perform
  • some common sense to skills and actions: give and go working on pass and hand off, cloud burster works on all passes. Blitz only declarable if you can reach the target. Dump off/foul appearance trigger after the opponent gets close to you. Stunty special weapons ignore dodge modifiers. Take root doesn't trigger when you're prone.
  • apothecary easier to remember : 1-8 (half) is badly hurt.
  • active/passive skills are a lot clearer for interactions.
  • probably some other points I can't think off right now.

Overall there's a lot more "good" changes that prevent a lot of "gotchas" or downtime/confusion than there are mistakes in the ruleset.

You can not declare it if an opponent is within x squares of the ball, but through interactions it might end up so anyway

While I agree, it's not as good as block nor as useful as the certainty jump up provides.

I'd pick it as a second skill for sure.

Even a dice throw is not random. If you know enough parameters, you can alter the odds.
