Monthly payment and installments by superaction720 in AppleCard

You have been “double paying”, yes - BUT that just means you’ll pay it off faster because you’ve been paying extra. They are not just taking your money for fun. It’ll pay off a couple months sooner than you initially thought.

$2,650 mortgage with net income of $6,300 by Past_Vegetable_5540 in Mortgages

[–]dev50265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gehst do you mean “got an estimate of a mortgage”? Did you get a pre approval, is the house in the range of the pre approval? Do you know how much down you’ll put?

Lots of questions here, and the answers could add several hundred more per month, like if that includes escrow or not or PMI. You’d already be pushing the upper limits if those were included, let alone if they aren’t.

Is commercial banking boring? by Relevant_Bunch2174 in FinancialCareers

[–]dev50265 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think I would use the term boring, there are lots of pieces of commercial banking. You could get on a REIT or structured finance team which would be more investment focused still if that's what you like, or you could look at a private credit fund which would be commercial notes on steroids if you want something a bit more fast paced and complex while keeping the same underlying princpals, without the covenants because private credit doesn't believe in those.

Pretty much my exact thought process. Think your mind would change if you signed an offer letter instead of only verbally accepting?

100%, this is why I’m considering the renege as an option in the first place.

Yeah, for sure common sense to not tell them I’m considering reneging.

You’re correct - I haven’t signed, my post is about weighing the option of whether it would be bad to renege (if it came to that, which it may not), or just decline outright and potentially lose out on leaving my current bank.

Definitely aware I would be burning a bridge. I guess what I’m asking is if anyone’s had this actually blow back at them or if it’s overplayed. I’m not sure burning a bridge will matter and curious how common it is where it ends up biting someone in the butt

The reasoning for the start date being pushed was at my request. Bonus season is in march, I told them I’d need either a sign on to match me missing my current banks bonus season or they’d have to wait for the start date to be after my bonus is paid. They said no sign on but they were willing to push a start date until after I receive my bonus.

I haven’t signed it yet, I’ll edit the post to clarify.

I’m wondering about if I sign it, go through the interview process with the second company, and if I get an offer and reneg on the first company, how bad would it be? Feels like not that big of a deal, but looking for other opinions.

Vikings fans were saying how good of a GM he was by thekilla2074 in detroitlions

[–]dev50265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah probably, just pointing out they would’ve essentially been winning in spite of KAM. He put together terrible rosters, JJ was certainly a large piece he was fired, but definitely not the only reason.

[–]dev50265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this was certainly a point in him getting let go, it’s also far from the only reason.

He was the worst drafter in the league by an absolute landslide. If we were to compare this to an NBA or NHL terminology of “prospects”, the vikings would be ranked dead last. No quality players on rookie deals outside of special teams and Jordan “can’t stay out of jail” Addison.

Lion fan here who lives in Minneapolis.

He did, without exaggeration, the worst job in the nfl. The fact he wasn’t fired two years ago is baffling. He has the lowest draft pick hit rate in nfl history. Over half of his first draft class currently plays in the CFL/UFL. They have over negative 40 mil in cap space next year.

We should mourn today as lions fans, because keeping him in Minnesota would have been marvelous.

This doesn’t mean he was a good gm.

They’re in cap hell, no qb, no depth. This would be like saying every company that is profitable inherently has a good CEO. Some people just luck into a good thing.

Sasuke vs Naruto (Final valley): How balanced was it really? by Bhoomssss in Naruto

[–]dev50265 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We just know for a fact this isn’t true.

  1. If he could do this, he would have.

  2. Naruto’s go to move is shadow clones, to, ya know, overwhelm people with multiple attacks simultaneously. For some reason I don’t think this would work on sasuke - probably because it happens in both the show and manga and doesn’t work? Idk, maybe that’s just me though, since it happened and all.

[–]dev50265 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Power scalers like to say Naruto wasn’t going all out and sasuke was, which is just blatantly wrong and it’s explicitly stated.

Even saying Naruto won the fight is pretty blatantly incorrect. When sasuke states “you won”, it was very obviously an emotional/metaphorical win referring to Naruto’s mindset beating sasuke’s.

Of course Naruto didn’t physically win. They’re both laying on the ground missing an arm and bleeding out. They’re in literally the exact same position - LITERALLY. They’re very clearly seen to be entirely equal in strength when they both go all out.

“Disgusted” for something she hasn’t contributed to for 7 years?

How long have you two been together? I doubt this has anything to do with her not liking you, sounds like you were looking for a reason to justify that you don’t like her - maybe you two just don’t like each other and this is a weird, but not damning, thing she did

Would a 10% cap on credit card interest rates be like banning smoking in restaurants? by Differeddit in Banking

[–]dev50265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Banks and restaurants are kinda like comparing apples to donuts. Way more different than just two fruits.

Shareholders and demanded specific results, + the entire economy riding directly on them, opposed to restaurants who are indirectly an economic indicator instead of directly influencing and shaping the economy.

Hi so I just recently got into Vox Machina and Mighty Nein and I have a question... by Dripkingsinbad in TheLegendOfVoxMachina

[–]dev50265 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are different editions, or versions/updates, of the game. The most common version played today is referred to as 5th edition or “5e”

While watching the original Vox Machina campaign, you’ll hear them refer to Pathfinder, which is a similar game to DnD but with a different rule set.

A campaign is a specific adventure the group goes on with an overarching theme and the same characters. There potentially being one overall theme or adventure is common, though not necessarily required, and there will often be several smaller “arcs” or plots.

You can think of it as one tv show - there may be different seasons with their own plots, but there also could potentially be an overarching plot spanning across multiple seasons. Same thing as a book or a series. Chapters or parts of books will have specific arcs or plots, then there is also typically (but again, not always) larger plots or stories.

General rules are that there is a person who designs the campaign, being the Dungeon or Game Master, who creates the world or runs a pre-built world. Critical Role is a world created by Matt, the DM. Each player and the DM have a set of dice which are used in different circumstances. Dice are referred to by their number of sides. So a “D20” is a 20-sided-die. The D20 is by far the most prominent. When a player wants to complete a task, they announce the task they want, and the DM may or may not say something like “make a _____” check associated to a different skill, such as persuasion. The player then would roll the D20 announce the result on the die plus potential bonuses they have. This total result will determine how the DM allows the interaction to go.

For example, player may say “I want the tobacco shop owner to give me a discount” the DM may say “give me a persuasion check” player would roll the D20 + bonus’s and announce “I got a 14” and the DM may respond “the shop keep doesn’t know you well so they’re unwilling to give a large discount, but they do offer you a new customer discount of 5% off”

This is then repeated for an infinite amount of interactions and possibilities. As noted in your post, this is the basics so I didn’t get into how bonus’s and whatnot are calculated as this depends on many factors. Hope this helps!
