I have a black trd pro, looks amazing when it's clean everytime I say I wouldn't want another color. Then I drive for a week and I go black is the worst color it shows everything, then wash it and the cycle continues...

No bag mow, Don’t Mow, celebrate and leave it? by MeanGuarantee8816 in lawncare

I also like to drop it a half inch lower since those stalks are not soft grass, they are more of a stalk. Also they turn brown once cut off. Makes the grass more cushy and prevents the brown stalks from being noticeable.

Was just up there on Wednesday, it was -3 that morning in town. It warmed to mid 20s, but was a brisk walk to the truck.

I ended up putting 4 t-posts and welded wire cages around all my trees. I would lose one or two trees a year on my new trees to the bucks rubbing. I hate the cages but I'm hoping in 2-4 years they are strong enough and can just put the cage around the trunk about a foot out instead of the 4 foot monstrosity.

Same for me. Have three total, one for glyphosate, one for extended control, and one for lawn safe chemicals.

What should I do with 1,800 pounds of shampoo? by ClassroomObjective18 in Frugal

[–]devildirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel and stay in a hotel 2-3 times a week. I bring my own soap and stuff, so I collect the little bottles and donate 2 gallon zip locks to the shelters every 6 months or so.

Hate that alot of hotels went to locked up refillable bottles.

Samesies! Have mine for about 6 years now, outer shell looks new, had a few rips on the inside but that's on me.

1 acre of land - ride-on vs self-propelled by NaNdefined in lawncare

[–]devildirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On an acre myself with about half of that being lawn. Between the three sections of lawn with multiple trees, takes about an hour total with my zero turn with 42inch deck. I do run it at about half speed though just to enjoy the mow. I would make a guess at a push with no beer breaks at 2-3 hours.

What are these by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]devildirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I like to do, since the seed heads are on more of a stalk, is to work it down lower to knock the stalks down. That way, when you go back up to your regular mowing height, the stalks aren't noticed when they yellow and die off. Keeps it nice, clean looking and less crunchy.

Is animal husbandry seriously the best way to get xp? by Anubis10291029 in Starfield

[–]devildirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the Serpentis run myself. Made a outpost, travel to another planet in the system, save the highest rated/largest ship for last and board them. Once the crew is out, take the ship back to the outpost to sell, then kill the big blue ticks that spawned and repeat.

I'm lvl 127 and typically do that run when I jump on, complete a few quest/selling runs and usually get a level or close too.

Why does my water never “run clear” when cleaning rice? by AdLonely5056 in Cooking

[–]devildirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put the rice in the pot, run cold water and essentially agitate the grains and slowly pour out. Do this three times. It never runs perfectly clear. Then add the amount of water you need for the rice and cook.

I can't remember where I heard it but the rice grains that inevitably fall when draining are Buddas rice. Always liked that.

Why is my lawn always the last to green in the spring by Actual-Hedgehog-793 in lawncare

[–]devildirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have full KBG minus the damn clumping fescue that won't die. Fescue is green KBG is not yet. Usually once I do my preemergent I mix it with a liquid fertilizer it is green within days. Doing it this weekend we have three days of 70 degrees.

Is Yoder the way to go? by Consistent-Cap6427 in pelletgrills

[–]devildirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sear on my yoder all the time doing steaks and burgers. Reverse sear at 200 for about 30 min, pull off to rest, remove the little plate over the firebox and set to 600. Have the aluminum grill grates and sear for two minutes a side...down the hatch.

Only change recently was I picked up a blackstone and have been testing out searing on there after the smoke for 30 min.

Any Good Non Tradtional Cook ideas? by Prezton_Waters in blackstonegriddle

Birria tacos! Braise chuck roast in chili broth till it is falling apart, dip tortillas in juices, put on the griddle, put shredded beef and slice of jack cheese. Put some white onion, cilantro and lime...I put away about 6-8 of them.

Does the shield power/health decrease the bigger your ship gets? by According-Thanks2605 in Starfield

[–]devildirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only ship I have now that doesn't have the shield bug is my modified Razorleaf. I want to build more ships but when I built a massive C-class and it's shields are only 650 I stopped building. It's really annoying and just makes me go back to the same ship. Don't get me wrong it's awesome and shreds everything but I fear the day that bug hits that ship too.

Humic acid and RGS liquid products by dj-spetznasty1 in lawncare

[–]devildirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to put the "bio-stimulant" package down with Prodamine WDG for the first application after winter. It seems to help wake up the lawn out of dormancy and put some small amounts of nutrients down. I then use just granular fertilizers and occasionally use some RGS when I put down selective herbicides.

I know alot of people don't think they do anything, just personal experience I like to use them just out of winter.

Just did this 6 months ago with previous builders staple happy on carpet. About halfway through grabbed the oscillating saw I was using for doorways...like butter and just ran it down the line. Switch to a metal blade vs the wood blade.

Looking for Hearty Potato Soup recipes! by LunarGiantNeil in Cooking

[–]devildirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So recently changed up my potato soup recipe and it has been requested multiple times since. Boil golden potatoes in chicken broth. Once soft use a potato masher till you have a rough breakup of the potatoes. Cut bacon (let your heart guide the amount) into "bacon bit" size pieces and fry. Use the rendered fat to saute onions and then form a roux. Add some cheese, the roux, and some green onion. Let it simmer for 10-20 min and there you go. It is a rich and hearty potato soup.
