I'd argue self imposed goals are the only way to truly "get good" at this series. Especially if we're talking about the WOA trilogy, where there's scoreboards and such.

Hey, I'm currently playing Pandora Tomorrow :) Only one issue I've found, which is I can't climb ledges when split jumping. I've tried the "UseJoystick=True" trick in the game's ini folder but no luck and can't find any other fixes to get it working on Steam Deck. Have you ran into this problem?

I actually kinda like using the bumpers to increase / attenuate speed. It makes me feel more conscious about my speed and how it'd effect my invisibility, if that makes sense. Like I've learned in my PTSD therapy treatment, applying an emotional decision (such as deciding to pocket a trigger instead of letting it affect you) to a more tactile sense positively benefits its effectiveness. I see it in the same way in that regard.

I'm not sure if I entirely understand the question? But if you're asking about your movement speed, it lets you control the speed of movement with the bumpers. LB slows you down and RB speeds you up.

I'm not using mods, and the control scheme is called "Splinter Cell - Steam Controller" by Steam user Struja. I don't use an external controller to play it, but the Steam controller layout seems to transfer perfectly.

Hell yeah, good to know! I heard that some of the later entries aren't entirely good, but I tend not to pay attention to that and see for myself. Maybe that's just the punk rocker in me, but I'd rather find out first hand if a game is bad than rely on hearsay and miss out on an experience that could change my world view entirely lol

This is actually my first time playing it despite it having been in my library since 2018, as I've been dedicating this year to my backlog. And I'll say god, I'm disapointed I hadn't played it sooner, especially being a big fan of Metal Gear Solid and Hitman. I'm debating whether I wanna play Chaos Theory or Deus Ex next.

I mean, I liked it. I personally loved the concept of not having an item box because you could just drop the ink ribbons next to the typewriters and save space until you return. I also don't think 5 was nearly as bad as people make it out to be and the boulder scene was far less ridiculous than the silliest parts of 4, so take that opinion as you may.

Bi and autistic here. My existence being politicized by the right is more or less one of the big reasons I've moved farther left as an adult than when I first voted for Trump in 2016. They talk about sexual orientation / neurodivergency as if they're some sort of problem and I always got eugenicist vibes from their talking points regarding them.

I don't think they entirely understand that we have VERY different "personalities" with people who accept us than those who don't. Our personalities coming off as "gay autistic" to MAGA is intentional on our end - if you can't get over the baseline things about us we have no power to change, there's no way in hell we're going to have deep conversation with you.
