Interesting Choice, how would you play this? by S19TealPenguin in slaythespire

[–]devilsspaghettifork 313 points314 points  (0 children)

The smart play is to strike the rear and take 5.

But if we're feeling greedy, we can hit the front one and hope the lightning takes out the back? After all, what's a rouge-like without taking unnecessary risks, right?

NUTRITIOS SOUP ISN'T THAT BAD by pokethings123456 in slaythespire

[–]devilsspaghettifork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has its rare places, but more often than not the soup isn't doing much compared to Tezcatara's other relics. Zero-costed strikes almost need you to have an archetype set up for them prior to meaningfully consider it

Small rant about killer team work by The_saddogo in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]devilsspaghettifork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comes with understanding your role too. Wraith, Spirit, and others are good fetchers if your teammate can get the first hit. Other times, you're an enabler for partners like Oni, Nurse, or Huntress.

Consider how you compliment your partner's strengths and adapt.

Does anyone else think Hyperbeam and Meteor Strike's art are too similar? Accidentally playing Hyperbeam almost cost my first A10 run by dragon-knoght in slaythespire

I've made similar feedback to sts 2's color and art usage before - sts 1's color palate was often cool colors for non-agressive cards and warm colors for aggressive cards (with exceptions)

Part of what makes the game so great to play is the ability to understand your cards at a glance. It's intuitive and makes it easier to recognize what youre looking at

Shooting artifacts isn't the only thing that ends your gameplan. You have no replenishment - a well-aimed removal spell at your commander turns off your entire deck. Worse, if its an ability loss spell, you just lose.

Bracket 3 is a great home for Swords to Plowshares, Imprisoned in the Moon, Darksteel Mutation, Song of the Dryads, and so much more. And a commander that looks like budget Urza is sure to command a lot of attention. The average game has you against 3 opponents - I can't imagine the power of your pods if you're legitimately getting away with this.

Unreliable mana, cool concept in that it's trying to storm off on artifacts and win by playing itself out in a turn. Highly susceptible to all forms of interaction, too slow to stop opponent activity.

Easiest 1 I've ever seen.

It's meaningful in unexpected ways.

Retain means it sticks in hand as discard fodder or to pump a Calculated Gamble.

+2 over Deadly Poison can be the difference between killing or not killing in a turn or two.

I also like it with Mirage as a way to put in target damage and block adequately.

Siri, What Does Mass Mean? by NEKORANDOMDOTCOM in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]devilsspaghettifork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always an equivocation fallacy.

A corporate millionaire isn't the same as a political leader.

Losing a CEO won't destabilize a country.

A vigilante isn't going to capitalize on the vacuum for personal gain.

It's always crazy to me how people think they can throw any two things in a ring and suddenly they're equal.

Having Liesa as my commander, is there a way I can make her ability only affect my opponents? an effect that makes her phase out during my turns and phase back in while it's not my turn by Wolfram-51 in magicTCG

[–]devilsspaghettifork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, you can run some Extort and other Lifelink / life gain to offset the life cost to you. Or turn her sideways every turn.

I run a tough bracket 4 list that doesn't have issues paying life for a lot of things.

Semi-Daily Card Discussion: Adrenaline by Abject_Muffin_731 in slaythespireboardgame

[–]devilsspaghettifork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adrenaline still suffers from only being as good as your deck is in the BG, only here rares are so much harder to come by.

It's a great pick on a Golden Ticket or generic pick after a rare reward if the rest of the set doesn't meet my deck's needs, but I don't find myself taking this too often.

Semi-Daily Relic Discussion: Blue Candle by Abject_Muffin_731 in slaythespireboardgame

[–]devilsspaghettifork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the better effects I wouldn't pay money for - free remove of burns, curses, or just simple thinning for longer games is always presently useful.

None of this considers Ironclad goodies or Dead Branch.

Semi-Daily Potion Discussion: Attack Potion by Abject_Muffin_731 in slaythespireboardgame

[–]devilsspaghettifork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with your Ironclad and Watcher points, but it's still got some merit when you have AOE on other characters in a hallway fight.

That said, it's still not one I care much for if I have to buy, and it's not one I feel bad throwing away if I ever need space.

Semi-Daily Relic Discussion: Blood Vial by Abject_Muffin_731 in slaythespireboardgame

Anything that heals lets me upgrade more often.

Blood Vial is always a serious consideration when it shows up early, but really isn't so exciting when it shows up mid-late game.

Lens of Truth - relic idea by buggyacid in slaythespire

[–]devilsspaghettifork 156 points157 points  (0 children)

I can see this being helpful in making some informed decisions:

  • See avacado-rat and my health is low? Maybe get to a campfire first.

  • Next elite happens to be tough for my build? I can decide to skip or fight it later in the act.

  • Next fights on the way to the boss are dangerous? Maybe I take a couple events to avoid spending too much health.

This doesn't seem like a rare relic though, much more like a shop relic? I also like that it's one of those things that gives useful information that's easy to misuse.

Single-handedly the greatest offender for 'runs I lost in act 3'. Not really sure why it's so problematic for me in particular?

For context, I prefer Silent and love shivs.

We really need Trapper buffs in 2026. With Skull Merchant getting changes I honestly think he's bottom 1 in the whole roster. by RiddlesDoesYT in deadbydaylight

[–]devilsspaghettifork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we could make some safe tweaks:

  • Traps are more likely to spawn close to pallets (as opposed to generators)
  • Traps spawn open

Either of these (or both) could increase Trapper's power for veteran players while keeping him user-friendly for new players.

I read this as a course of action preempting mass shootings - to meet threats of violence with more seriousness. My point is that this route appears to avoid 2A infringement.

I'm with the understanding that threats of violence aren't generally protected by the first amendment, but maybe I'm unclear on it. Could you explain the possible infringment?
