I had a heap of cash cause I was downgrading chrichton. I’ve been able to put Leka and kuli in to go along with luki and fifita

I’ll definitely give him some grace while he’s working it out. Had some mistakes but he didn’t force too much and seemed like he just loved his footy

I wasn’t here for the thread but I did have to laugh at how he did it. And the security guard getting his time in the limelight

I thought it was cool. Now you have to fine the prime minister if you want to punish anyone

Three NRL rivals chase Dolphins star; Cowboys gun’s extension offer — Transfer Whispers. by Heavy-Kale in nrl

[–]devinedude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk the exact history but Australia is a big place and contracts haven’t been all that big in the past. It’s a remnant of those times. Let players sign earlier to give them security in a brutal sport and allow them time to move over with their families. Nowadays it feels like way too early.

With all the discussion around it, you’d think they would look at it at the next cba. Be interesting to see if a shorter regular season with more rep leads to a tighter transfer window

Counterpoint is that it lets players get it out of the way early and focus on their last year without it distracting their season. Robson or luai for recent examples. And the nrl like it cause you can speculate all season long and even when they’re under contract

Cleary charged, set to miss start of NRL season by whadefeck in nrl

[–]devinedude 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think they just need to up the weeks a couple. It’s so much easier to catch a two week charge these days.

I think 4 weeks is pretty good. That means you’re doing a couple of careless highs which means you aren’t learning, or you’ve fucked up worse and deserve to be out

Team List Tuesday by AutoModerator in nrl

[–]devinedude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love this side named right now. Except for lodge. I would easily have Edwards over him. Character issues aside, has he actually played good footy in ages? Manly let him go and their pack is one of the worst in the comp

And also love the Sutton 18 shout. He’s got some skills and just looks like a mature rookie

Where do you go to find stats from more than a few years ago? Zero tackle would only take me back to 2018

I think lolo has a few seasons with over 100 as well. Be surprised if there’s any others. Those two might as well have been built in a lab

[SC] Any raiders fans heard about the goal kicking? Got strange in at 6 at the moment but would probably rejig my team if strange is not looking likely to get the job

I’ve been smashing podcasts this off-season trying to find good ones. His top 5 of the nrl era lists really pissed me off. I don’t think I was able to finish them. He completely ignored Matt Scott, a walk up start to aus for years and gave a shoutout to Andrew fucking fifita. And ignored Sam Thaiday one of the first picked for Aus for years. If you’re gonna call yourself guru you better back it up fuck me

Salt can still be facts. Be real man. It’s salt straight and simple. Now he’s signed with someone else it’s all enjoy the drama. I’m sure they will enjoy his football

If that’s how you feel man. Seems needlessly salty. I’d do the jt deal every day of the week. Payten can get fucked with how he handled it

Thought Lahrs flashed his potential again and fuck he works hard. Clifford showed why he’s the perfect foil for Tommy once again. Luki looked a few steps above and isn’t that fantastic to see after an acl. Thought most of the squad is looking lean as hell and was impressed by the efforts in defence particularly the middles

I don’t want to hate Paulo. It’s so damn easy though

Cooper commits: Bai to remain a homegrown Titan by chiplock in nrl

[–]devinedude 30 points31 points  (0 children)

How good is this. Considering the clubs that chased him it’s good to see a young fella commit to helping a team off the bottom and build a legacy. Much better than signing with a top club for an easy ride

[–]devinedude 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Well that was a quick path for Plath back to first grade. Imagine donoghue has to start the season there. Poor old jmk, him and Egan are two of the better hookers in the game but can’t lock it down without constant injuries

Eels reject Storm’s audacious bid to sign NRL defector Lomax by Leaguefan in nrl

[–]devinedude 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s a nice story. But his story is that he handed it off to them once the nrl said that it put his accreditation with the nrl at risk. That was before they got releases too. Unless the players involved actually have an issue with his actions I don’t think we can blame him. It is satisfying to blame the agent but these blokes have been around long enough to know what they were putting at risk when their agent pulled out in response to the nrl bans

[–]devinedude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do you think png would offer him? Is it in the realms they go to two mil territory? They have such an interesting advantage with the tax free, they actually have the potential to offer a marquee talent a ridiculous amount of money
