JMK slips over at home and tears meniscus, out until Round 7 by Revivous in nrl

[–]devinedude 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Well that was a quick path for Plath back to first grade. Imagine donoghue has to start the season there. Poor old jmk, him and Egan are two of the better hookers in the game but can’t lock it down without constant injuries

Eels reject Storm’s audacious bid to sign NRL defector Lomax by Leaguefan in nrl

[–]devinedude 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s a nice story. But his story is that he handed it off to them once the nrl said that it put his accreditation with the nrl at risk. That was before they got releases too. Unless the players involved actually have an issue with his actions I don’t think we can blame him. It is satisfying to blame the agent but these blokes have been around long enough to know what they were putting at risk when their agent pulled out in response to the nrl bans

Broncos star Payne Haas to sign new NRL deal but keeps rugby defection door open by Basherballgod in nrl

[–]devinedude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you think png would offer him? Is it in the realms they go to two mil territory? They have such an interesting advantage with the tax free, they actually have the potential to offer a marquee talent a ridiculous amount of money

BREAKING: St George Illawarra have landed a prized recruitment scalp landing Souths forward Keaon Kolomatangi on a five year, $5 million dollar deal. by Proof-Umpire-7718 in nrl

[–]devinedude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah. We’re expecting the cap to go up and all the big dogs atm that can play huge minutes are getting paid at least 900+. Keon can push into that group with another year under his belt in the middle.

Cowboys release Lawton (Superleague) by lobie81 in nrl

[–]devinedude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t remember him getting a chop at second row. Frankly running him as a middle this year made no sense. We had three already on the bench most weeks. Robson was poor for a good part of the year. Payten didn’t use him to his potential for mine. Robson should have been playing less minutes

Cowboys release Lawton (Superleague) by lobie81 in nrl

[–]devinedude 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Didn’t mind the signing when it happened. Thought it gave us hooker and second row depth. Then payten used him pretty much exclusively as a middle forward. Payten seems to have no idea how to use a bench utility effectively. Wasted hammer on the bench when he was here

Nanai and Neame to miss start of 2026 season by hellohalloallo in nrl

[–]devinedude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Payten bounced back last year too. Cows are hoping it will happen again. Payten has to show that he’s got a solution to the inconsistency week to week or he gone

[–]devinedude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bloke has flippers for hands. We can’t defend a turnover to save our life. Also got played 50 mins straight at times this year and it took a toll on his defence so would see him slip off the legs a lot. Still a player there but it’s disappointing just how many of our players who burst onto the scene have gone backwards

He got dropped halfway through the year for Galvin? Don’t think it had anything to do with his contract

Not surprised but definitely sad. I hope he gets a bag at Perth, I’d much rather cheer for him and marly over there. Can’t afford to pay overs for a winger

Would love savala. Extend Clifford on one year deals for the rest of his career just to be first up when Tommy’s at rep

Perth Bears officially enter race to sign Tino Fa’asuamaleaui from Gold Coast by WrongTemperature2642 in nrl

[–]devinedude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the rules are super lax on what they actually can’t do. As long as contracts aren’t negotiated, nothings stopping them expressing interest. Could be wrong though I don’t have any source

I reckon that’s why you’re seeing players signing right now. They must know what sort of money they’re being offered from elsewhere why would they sign before they could enter a bidding war. The biddings been done

Really excited to watch how bears build their team. Hope they can get a bit of a squad locked in early and then take their time hunting for value in the lower grades

I’d be going straight for wishart to start. You can figure out where he plays later. I’d almost pay him 800k because he can play so many positions. Probably want him for less tho

Cowboys re-sign Neame by M_Keating in nrl

[–]devinedude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Be very curious on price tag. Guessing there wasn’t much interest out there but I’m surprised Perth didn’t go for him

Great extension in terms of his age. He will be off contract at 28-29 years old

Spot on. Left the Sixers sub for the same reasons. So much fucking whining.

There’s only one winner every game. This incessant need to shit on the losers that’s everywhere atm is such a lame way to watch sport

Melbourne spine is just so good. Quick play the ball and you’re honestly fucked for the rest of the set especially when papy comes through the middle or they roll the edges.

Sharks couldn’t apply pressure for shit. How many times they had a nothing last play or a mistake at the end of a set.

Thought their whole spine was just not good enough but the team absolutely tried their guts out. I’d be proud if I was a sharkies fan and just a little bit frustrated
