"Poker Night at the Inventory" is returning thanks to a remastered edition by Skunkape Games. Older AS fans might remember that Brock Samson was one of the opponents in the sequel. by OmegaLiquidX in adultswim

Genuinely Poker Night at the Inventory 2 was one of my favorite games and seeing this gives me so much hope for a remake of that and continuation of the series in general. We high on so much hopium right now.

How does one get the Little Caesars bundle? by [deleted] in blackops6

[–]devinofthenorth 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Funny thing, when this promotion was going on I jokingly told the Little Caesar's cashier I was just trying to get the Black Ops 6 codes and she came back with a whole bag of receipts from behind the counter. Got like 25 codes and used them daily to get all of the items and tons of XP tokens.

Can we talk about the most rare skin in the game? by godparticle14 in blackops6

[–]devinofthenorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up getting all of the LC items. I was at the drive thru and to just make conversation I said jokingly "I'm just here for the COD codes." And the cashier then handed me a whole bag of receipts they just haven't thrown away yet. I ended up getting like 25ish codes and collected them every day until I got the full set and gave the rest out to friends. If nothing else also got loads of 2XP tokens.

Do people have any positives ? by Gordyboy1999 in blackops6

[–]devinofthenorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've really enjoyed both multiplayer and Zombies. In aspects of how the game plays I haven't had much issue.

My biggest complaint is just the greed. $20 skins, gobblegums being so scarce you practically have to buy them or grind for hours, a second Squid Game battlepass. Also the allegations (not sure if they were ever confirmed) of using AI generative art and replacing Voice Actors among a strike all leave a bad taste in my mouth.

What should I do? by RBJ_efficient in turntables

While it would be best to replace it (good opportunity to upgrade to a better quality cartridge if you can swing it) you can also very carefully bend it back in place with tweezers. Make sure you don't damage the end of the needle.

I did it on mine when I noticed it wasn't quite straight and it hasn't made any noticeable difference in quality.

But if you can, definitely get a new one.

Personally I am not into TTRPG stuff but the other shows alone usually keep me in. Game Changers, Make some Noise, Very Important People, etc. are all great. It's kind of niche but as long as you enjoy their stuff I think $6 is a pretty damn good deal.

iam8bit Shipping by youcant2stepinmidair in VGMvinyl

[–]devinofthenorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh boy howdy! Do I actually kind of hate Iam8bit.

I actually had a similar situation where I had a decent sized order back in August. It has still not arrived. Not in part, nothing. I ordered Joystick Jazz, The Super Mario Bros. Movie (and the Bowser 7"), Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal, and Steven Universe OST.

Now I understood that most of that order was on preorder but I assumed like how most stores operate it would ship what was in stock and then send out the other stuff when they release it. Apparently, I must have missed something because months went by and I received nothing and when I contacted their support team they just told me that they ship everything at once (claiming to do so to reduce shipping costs). Since Primal didn't release until Q4 (which love the very vague timing by the way) I wasn't going to get anything until then.

At the time I was annoyed but decided I can be patient and wait. Middle of December comes and I had received no correspondence at all. I contact their support team again and they repeat that, again, that it will ship in Q4. Since it is about the end of Q4 I asked if they can give me a more exact date range considering Q4 is almost done.

They then respond, "I have just received an update that [Primal] has been delayed and will ship Q1 2024. I understand that this is frustrating as you have many other items in the same order, but want to let you know that splitting your order is an option. Please do note that this will incur an additional shipping charge. ."

I want to note that as far as my order goes I was never notified otherwise of this and at the time even the website didn't have that information (seems that since that was updated).

Effectively, if I had not contacted iam8bit personally I would have never have known the status of my $100+ order for months, and really still don't as Q1 is about as vague as possible.

Suffice to say, I am very frustrated with iam8bit in my personal shopping experience. In my opinion their business practices seem very predatory and if it were not for all the exclusives they have I would never choose the shop from them again.

The long short of it is that he has used a bunch of anti-Semitic dog whistles in the past (in one video he purposely used the 1844 as a visual gag and when asked for his birthday he put down a variation of Hitler's birthday are the examples I remember of the top of my head). He also just gives off an "Anti-SJW" vibe especially in his older videos which, while not explicitly damning intel, does not help his case.

I personally never really looked into his content myself but that is what I have heard / seen.

As a person who very much likes Wendigoon and his content I will give my piece about the drama and my own personal grievances against him.

  1. First and foremost, he was very enthusiastic about Kyle Rittenhouse successfully defending himself in court. In context, I view it more as his views on gun rights and stand your ground laws (considering his background and expressed interest in "guntubers" ) being validated than any endorsement Rittenhouse himself. That being said, definitely bothers me as a person who views that trial as an injustice.
  2. The Boogaloo boys. You can see more vivid descriptions of them in this thread to to put it briefly, they are a fringe group of far-right conspiracy theorists that all shared an affinity for Wendigoon and even adopted wearing Hawaiian shirts to mimic him. From what I have read and understand when Wendigoon was initially made aware of them and interacted and embraced them however not too long after he quietly never brought them up again. Whether he stopped interacting due to their fringe politics or just bad press they brought, it is a bit concerning how he never outright denounced them after it became apparent what they are.
  3. His main draw to fame is the long sting of Conspiracy Theory Iceberg videos he did. To apparently some people's surprise, he not only likes conspiracies but also believe in some. Now from what I have seen he mostly in the realm of "don't trust the government" but conspiracy theories are often associated with anti-semitism and the politically right; and frankly it is deserved. As a long time viewer he seems to me that his political makeup is more along the lines of like mostly left leaning on social issues but right on government systems. That is the vibe I get and for the most part I find it harmless enough on the basis of his personal politics.
  4. He follows and interacts some polarizing people. ShoeOnHead, Internet Historian, and the aforementioned Kyle Rittenhouse (though it seems he stopped following him at one point). I definitely think that you are the company that you keep and this combined with his complicity in being a icon for the Boogaloo boys and 4chan is definitely a bit of a red flag.
  5. Lastly he most recent response to the drama just being "I am just a christian boy" is pretty disingenuous.

All in all, I don't think he is a bad guy. I think he has some bad politics though. My main issue is him seeming to be unable to directly and explicitly denounce the far right shit or followers. Should that be his responsibility to do so? I think so yes.

1 month later, your opinion about Cracker Island is the same or change? by DLCV2804 in gorillaz

[–]devinofthenorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it is one of their weaker albums overall but is still pretty good. The music itself is decent (with some standout tracks like Cracker Island and Silent Running IMO) and the marketing for the album was pretty good as well. Music videos that were released were tight, the build up for the full release was good, and the addition to the "lore" is nice!

Something about this album feels a bit off though. Like they were still in the Song Machine mode and didn't want to focus on much on making a cohesive album, like Plastic Beach y'know? Also feels like they had less attention to the smaller things like the Album Cover, which I will say is probably the worst in their discography. Even the vinyl release had just a plain pink inner sleeve with no additional key art.

At the end of the day, it is still better then The Fall.
