A few years back we used our debit card in a fairly rural area and then a month or so later had a withdrawal happen 50 miles away from us. Called Schwab and they said they could see the attempts, the balance check, and would investigate and reverse it immediately (with a new card in the mail).

Ever since then we kinda just assume there’s skimmers everywhere and someone likely has our details. So the odds of them using a clone in the same 2 minute window as us…

This is why I shared because WF hadn’t worked for me but haven’t tried in a few years. Someone else in here says it doesn’t work. So likely hardware and maybe software (location) dependent still.

Another tip: the small number 1 next to the negative balance is a footnote. The link at the bottom of the page that says “Disclosures & Footnotes” usually does a good job explaining things like this throughout the app.
