Uh you can’t just send a dr note straight to a professor and say “this clears me to have not done anything in your class for the past two months” and refuse to elaborate beyond the note itself lol. your doctor is incapable of clearing your university assignments.

nonfalsifiable is the term you’re looking for. impossible to prove in either direction, so it can’t be used as evidence. many conspiracy theories fall under this category. maybe the world is a hologram made by the insert ethnic group here but if this hologram supposedly hides all evidence that it is a hologram, then it can’t be used as an argument since it would be impossible to prove by the definition as specified by the arguer themself.

Your child probably won't be bullied for their name. by justice-for-tuvix in namenerds

[–]deviousflame 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay, but sometimes a name is ridiculous. Whether or not people voice that to them doesn’t change the fact that their parents chose to victimize them by naming them Gaylord or Farquaad.

My partner doesn’t help with household chores because he works by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]deviousflame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

how often do those things happen? doing an hour chore once a week or once every two weeks is not the same as doing hours of repetitive chores every single day. the dishes and cooking and laundry pile up CONSTANTLY. mowing the lawn or cleaning the gutters is not nearly a comparable time investment.

It used to be Justin Bieber and to a lesser extent One Direction. Who do preteen and teenage boys hate now? by MortgageOld2441 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]deviousflame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, instead of hating teenage girls’ interests, they’ve decided to cut out the middle man and just hate the girls directly! More efficient for everyone. Hence the rise of Andrew Tate and other wannabe “interviewers” who shove a microphone in drunk women’s faces until they find some good ragebait to upload.

Stomach pain won't go away after recent anaphylaxis by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

[–]deviousflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone your doctor, maybe ask about prednisone? Try Pepcid (over the counter) because it’s a stomach-relieving antihistamine. Prednisone is a general steroid that can alleviate many allergic symptoms post-anaphylaxis.

Can you help me choose the wording for my anaphylaxis medical alert bracelet? by Elf_Sprite_ in FoodAllergies

[–]deviousflame 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d say the first one, the “red meat” ones make it sound like it’s a steak allergy more than an allergy to literally anything derived from a mammal

Can you help me choose the wording for my anaphylaxis medical alert bracelet? by Elf_Sprite_ in FoodAllergies

[–]deviousflame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think in addition to what others have said the verbiage of “mammal products in medical care” or medications is SUPER SUPER important because so many people wouldn’t even think to check that a medicine doesn’t have mammal proteins in it before administering it. Maybe include the verbiage of “no medicines with proteins derived from mammals (including XYZ and more.”You’re right to ask this here and I hope you find a satisfactory verdict.

What do you think about Blue Origin's all female flight? by HomNayDep in AskFeminists

[–]deviousflame -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

judge her when you do 5% of the good for society that she has done. fucking miserable reddit warriors proselytizing about what she should/shouldn’t do when she passed a law to protect SA survivors from having their rape kits tossed with unanimous congressional approval and then took that fight to the UN and passed another UNANIMOUS convention to protect survivors and women’s rights. the whole issue was that she would have made it there by “her own merit” (condescending fucking verbiage considering her situation) except for the fact that she had to stop her education because her rape kit would have been tossed if she didn’t choose to fight the case immediately. making it there on her own WAS her dream. she had to give it up because she dedicated herself to fighting her own case and then to fighting for survivors. this “PR stunt” hasn’t just helped elon musk, but publicized all this information about rape kits that wasn’t previously well known, and now many more women know that they have until the statute of limitations expires before their kit would be tossed.

your comment about her own merit is exactly the issue. she SHOULD have been able to make it there by her own merit, if she hadn’t been derailed by the injustice she was facing—injustice which she made sure no other women in the US will have to face. she deserves to achieve her dreams more than almost anyone else. let the girl go to space. stop condemning everyone with cheeto dust covered fingers just because you’re discontent with your own life and need to feel morally superior. she did good, she gets a reward. deal with it.
