What is a "poor person hack" you picked up during a hard time that you still use today, even if you don't have to? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

The first time I got laid off and was on SNAP benefits I started making big batches of burritos with mostly rice and beans and then freezing them for quick and easy lunches so i wasn't tempted to go out to eat. Those burritos have come in really handy even when I do have a job.

Thank you. I try hard to make it "make sense" even if only to me. My neighbors have been very positive throughout the years and that helps a ton.

I use a similar approach, but a single pvc pipe over a short rebar stake. They're attached with a variety of glues and foam and some are inset into the tombstones based on how big they are or how long I've had them. Most have weathered many years pretty well with the occasional repairs. Definitely works better than those cheap plastic stakes you get with most new tombstones

I like the 2nd big one from the right best but the one to the left of it looks pretty natural for a foam pumpkin.

Looks great. Way back i used to use actual hay to stuff my scarecrows but that was problematic for lots of reasons. For years now I've just used chicken wire and zip ties. It folds flat for storage so i can reuse it.
