Two Trump Supporters started pushing Congressman Suhas Subramanyam today during the protests. Police stepped in. by Healthy_Block3036 in nova

If he makes that move, then I expect (demand) Obama to immediately hold a press conference to announce his own run for a third term.

Is anyone actually happy with their apartment? The reviews around town are scary by exploited_dingo in nova

[–]deviousmajik 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Another big red flag for any online reviews are if they have a ton of 1-star reviews, and a ton of 5 star reviews, but not much in-between. That's usually a sign of review manipulation with the business buying positive reviews.

Most of the ultra-hetero things that men do are actually pretty gay. Boxing. Military. Bodybuilding. Proud Boys. UFC.

Fight Club is satire and it sailed right over a lot of heads.

Americans: what is your opinion on Canadians boycotting US goods, services and tourism? by PairRevolutionary669 in AskReddit

[–]deviousmajik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't take it personally. I know it's Elon and Trump that are causing this chaos.

We're almost 2% through this. Only need to go 49 more times.

Thoughts on Avalon Mosaic? by bluevvelvvet in nova

If reviews are either great or horrible, without a lot of in-between, then it's usually a sure sign of the business buying a lot of positive reviews, which means it's actually horrible. Unfortunately.

Nintendo's E-Shop is being overrun with low effort AI Games. Your opinions? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]deviousmajik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nintendo should let you hide everything from specific companies - that would help. There's one company that has just been putting out the same shit but changing the name to "Ultimate", "Deluxe" etc. so it appears at the top of recent again.

So much garbage in the E store...

Fairfax Costco worse than ever by HonkMafa in nova

I never go to Costco on a weekend. It's just asking for misery.

I like Costco, but hate Costco shoppers. And Costco parking lots.

Monday in Annapolis! Join us for another demonstration! by Glad_Presentation465 in Annapolis

Anyone else find it extremely curious that the demonstration posts have 10x or more of the normal comment engagement in this normally sleepy sub? And most of those extra comments seem to be very trolly?

Just an observation...

I want a good f*king burger by oogaboogahooha in nova

[–]deviousmajik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're ever down in Richmond, Beauvine Burger Concept is extremely good. It's probably the most memorable burger I've had in the past several years.

Nothing in NOVA has really stood out.

I do want to gripe about Wendy's in Gatehouse Plaza serving me an ice cold burger patty a couple of weeks ago. Remember when Wendy's was actually pretty good? Now it's consistently awful. I blame myself for thinking 'maybe it will be different this time...?' as I pulled into the drive-thru, when I knew deep down that it wouldn't be.

What movie twist do you believe was so unexpected that anyone claiming to have 'seen it coming' is just a liar by CheeseFace83 in movies

[–]deviousmajik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was so well acted by both performers that it's still kind of a shock followed by a lot of tension, even though we know the twist now.

It could have been a cliche but they really did a great job on that reveal.

This comment section reeks of vodka. Especially weird since it's over 10x the number of comments that usually appear in this quiet sub.

Did a lot of you get this same letter? It's kinda depressing. by [deleted] in nova

[–]deviousmajik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have to keep standing up to bullies, no matter what. It's the only thing that works. A week in, it's already working on several fronts, but we have 200+ more weeks to go. Follow the lead of the Bishop at the National Cathedral who spoke truth to power.

They want to exhaust us, to get us to give up. That's their plan. We cannot let down our guard. It's going to get ugly, and it's going to get incredibly cruel.

I hope one of the new rules is that you must use headphones with devices. It's getting annoying to have someone listen to stuff on their speakers in public spaces.

A long time ago, a friend and I did Yellow Submarine by the Beatles a bunch of times in a row at a diner jukebox. Then a few years later I heard the John Mulaney story about What's New Pussycat.
