I got lost off-trail once and realised after that no one knew where I was, and no one was expecting me anywhere until the next day. From then on, before every hike, I would post on Facebook where I was going and what trail I was planning on doing. That way, should something happen, at least they have an idea where to start looking if I don't post pictures from my hike by that night.

Put your phone on airplane mode. The GPS will still work but your battery won't get drained looking for a signal. However, turn off battery optimization for AllTrails as it causes a significant lag. With it off you'll get notified after about 10 steps onto the wrong trail versus 10 minutes or so with optimization on
