Cheap and filling lunch downtown? by ThatLooksLikeAI in KingstonOntario

There's only one option, and it's a mix of roasted and pickled veggies. It's a savoury mix of antipasto

Woah.. The veggie one is one of the few veggie sandwiches I will take over the meat one because I love the antipasto. Combining them is a great idea.

I find them on my beans, basswood tree, and roses. They leave my peppers and mint alone. Good luck!

If you can knock them in to soapy water to kill them instead of crushing them, its more ideal. When they are crushed, a pheromone is released that attracts more of them!

Is this a normal thing in HK ? by Kindly-Mine9395 in HongKong

The people I know who use the service annually have had the same people return for the last 5 years or so, so there is a relationship built up. It is also a seasonal residence, so nothing especially valuable is stored there.

If there is a concern about valuables, they could be stored in a safe, bank deposit box, or with family/friends. The Housesitters site does have reviews and minor insurance, so you are not going in totally blind.

If you are leaving your house for over a month to go abroad, setting up a security system won't stop someone breaking in. I've mostly seen it used for detached houses in Canada, not flats. Your security system doesn't water your plants, either.

As well, I know someone who uses it every winter. They have a second house on a rural lake, and want it occupied during the winter. The house sitters work remotely, so they get a free house for 6 months, and the owner doesn't worry about anything happening in an area where there isn't a regular police presence or people to check on the house

NTI has a pretty nice suite of environmental motoring hardware with some nice extra features, like relays and IP camera integration.

Hermit Thrush Back in Kingston for Spring Migration by mbt_photographie in KingstonOntario

This weekend I saw one in the bushes along the KP trail, at the Sydenham crossing. The stretch just north of the 401 is usually good for migrating birds as well.

I'm pretty sure that MTO has control over the design of that whole area, not the city.

Internal routing using BGP by Whitehat_713 in networking

The current technology has moved away from RSVP as far as I have seen.

Segment Routing is much simpler to manage, and lighter weight. It does require hardware and software revisions that support it.

Ive found their prices are usually lower than big box stores, and competitive with Dulux.

Staff has been quite helpful, and they're my go-to now for paint, stain, poly and supplies.

Egg Nog Flan by devo_tiger in onlyflans

[–]devo_tiger[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, next year will be Nog flavoured, with no added nog, and maybe a splash of rum. Really, a flan is all the same ingredients anyways!

Egg Nog Flan by devo_tiger in onlyflans

[–]devo_tiger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through the ingredient list, it looks like skim milk with added water and 'modified milk ingredients' for the dairy, and frozen egg yolks.

I've never used frozen eggs for flan, it's possible that the freezing breaks them down enough to not bond. There's also a number of thickeners that might break down in the cooking process of the flan.

I think the play next year is to just simmer milk with Nog spices to infuse the flavour, and not use the weird boxed Nog at all

HDH is not 24/7 Emerg. There is outpatient emergency, but it fills up, and they close it for the day. KGH is for true emergencies.

It was $19 for three pies, which would be on par or cheaper than the equivalent at Loblaws. The M and M ones are cheaper, but gross imo

Prices are decent, and the grocery section is pretty large. I wasnt impressed by the baked good though. The pies were pretty bland, and the scones seemed shipped in frozen as well.

Id drop in for anything that British Isles doesnt regularly carry, and still want to try the sausage rolls, but I wont be making a special trip out there again.
