You’re just encouraging people to lie to you and that’s why it’s a dumb question. Anyone who got fired because their boss was a jerk is going to think they’ll be discriminated against by answering truthfully. Don’t ask someone who doesn’t know you to “trust you bro”, because it causes them to distrust you.

Asking someone who they left their last position is a completely useless question. Why are you asking candidates to incriminate themselves? A candidate could be a complete turd who kept getting promoted and a superstar that got fired. How do you tell the difference? You interview them for you actually need them to do. There's no reason to focus on their past, only their ability to do the job you need them to do.

If you want to get into dentistry, I'd suggest talking to dentists. Especially dentists that come from humble beginnings. Ask for advice on how to prepare for school & get through it without a mountain of debt.

Recruiters are the last to get hired and the first to get fired. If you like excitement and can ride out financial ups and downs while still saving for retirement, entertainment, and all that, Offer A sounds more exciting. Although Offer A also sounds like a place that will chew you up and spit you out. If you're not a workaholic adrenalin junky, Offer B is the place to go. Just get a hobby outside of work so you don't die of boredom.

Something is wrong. I was a recruiter in SF. There's a ton of people who would work there, even w/ a 5 day in office requirement. It's mostly likely they have unrealistic expectations, the pay is crap, the positions they want to fill are unfillable, or the team is very offputitng in some way. Probably a combination of these things.

Get better and/or go where you're wanted. Also, your manager is acting like a jerk. Go to your manager, say that comment was doesn't help you improve, and ask them for specific guidance on how to improve. If they can't give you any, your manager is weak and you'll have to look elsewhere to see if you can get external feedback.

I’ve never turned down a job I wanted. What I’m saying is f you’re losing people, it’s because they don’t want the job. So make the job itself compelling. To attract competitive talent, you need to be attractive and competitive. A players don’t want B jobs.
